Well, while I don't really accept 100% legitimacy of this study, one thing for sure is that many of the cryptocurrency owners are now into a great awakening: they have been fooled for too long and they are now seeing cryptocurrency as a tool to be a little bit of a rebel of the traditional systems that are not working for them...or should I say us? This study is confirming that many of the crypto owners do not trust the government to be telling us the truth, it is not transparent and it can even be working against our own interest financially, politically and in many other areas of our lives. Now, if the goal of this is to make cryptocurrency ownership somehow like a cult thing and that the mainstream population should stay away from, that goal will surely fail in the long run.

The result is not accurate. You can see how United States crypto users are like they are camped and not allowed to do a lot of things outside of United States. This is different from how the world is. These could make them feel different from the rest of the world. I believe if this research is done in my countries, you will see a lot of different results. Also that only 2001 Americans are involved in the research which is also too small. To make the research accurate, get like 50000 participants from countries that have many crypto users.

The population of people who owns crypto are diversified obviously as they are distributed around the world, and if they're trying to refer to the fact that they are more reserved in their dealings, then of course this is the case since nobody wants to be robbed with a $5 wrench.

Both Bitcoin.com and that study should've emphasize that the study limited to American on the title. There's nothing wrong by prefer to use less popular social media and news source either. Statement  "... and an aversion to authoritarianism" isn't weird either since it means American cryptocurrency owner still care about democracy. So i also question legitimacy of this study.

I'm not an American, but I'm questioning the legitimacy of the study since it targeted Americans who have a different background and beliefs, much different from Crypto holders who are living on the other side of the world with different beliefs from the beliefs of the Americans.
They should title the study Crypto owners from America and not generalize it among Crypto holders.
Some of the traits are not present in my character, and I'm a Crypto holder.

This is bullshit and does not even make sense to me, so they make a research based on a small number of people in the U.S and generalized their findings to 'crypto owners', all of this just to get engagements on their news. I don't think we should even waste our time debating this, there is nothing to prove that it is correct.

Is it a good investment method instead of traditional investment methods and that a small percentage buys Bitcoin because of financial freedom, privacy and decentralization?

Studies and surveys always have some sponsors that disrupts the real result. Just recently Harvard published an article claiming Aliens are walking among us. How funny could things be if they church also sponsors a study and claims aliens are actually gods.

I didn't even read the article but if it said crypto users has dark traits then sure. Everybody has dark traits we just deal with our demons everyday.

I'll say that the study was conducted for the view to see the negatives of crypto owners, and not to highlight their positive side. Everyone has the potential to have dark traits and most of the times, the environment where the individual finds him/herself can either make it more pronounce or keep that side of them recessive.

People who are crypto owners are people who are well informed.

Yeah, I have dark traits because it's all me when I'm trying to profit from a trade or investment. Oh wait, isn't that what a lot of traders from different market do too It's just the nature of a chosen field.

Money that is created by individuals such as Bitcoin is opposed by governments which is why even the time when BTC was new, Satoshi is already surrounded by conspiracy theories.

It wouldn't be surprising conspiracy theories are always discussed in the forum. Even the flatearth is explained. People being lied all the time now doubted what was taught to them since the time they go to school.

These kind of surveys are always done with a small sample size and generic questions, so it wouldn't surprise me if you could conclude all kinds of things there e.g. "crypto people are more likely to vote", "crypto people are more likely gun owners" and other stuff like that.

You would need a sample size of many, many thousands of people in order to get anything close to accurate.

The result would be logical if the data was in 2012-2014, but in 2022 the nature of the questions will inevitably be misleading or those questions in which you can direct the audience to specific answers. In any case, they are biased and therefore worthless.
