Punishment for scam.

I am glad to see a reputation sub board. In the other forum, reputation is among the strongest boards. When your matter gets to reputation and you are not a good user of the forum, it takes a supreme intervention for you not to get red tags.

So, in this forum, what's the punishment for a scammer or let's say someone who's lost a matter in the reputation board. Will -ve karma do it? Let's say the person has 1000 karmas, do we need to be giving -ve karmas untill the 1000 karma is reduced to negative?

I knew and see some users who have scammer badge or something similar and there is scam buster badge for reporters too. Also -ve karma probably, getting nuked but only higher positions can do that like admin and president, etc.

Good to know... I have never seen anyone with a scammer batch. Maybe there are no scammers here or they are not caught yet. This means that scam is actually moderated here and by admin. If someone is proven a scammer, he is given a s scammer badge. But I doubt anyone will be nuked because of scam. It's extreme, I think the BTT way is the best approach.  This could mean there's need for a feedback space in users profiles.

Well, it can be because scammers are united in their stand that most of the users here are hard to be victimized as we are already exposed to different scams in the past and we know how to detect red flags. Most of the bad members I encountered here are plagiarists who are posting regurgitated content just to be able to post something and moderators are good in identifying those posts so they can be deleted and the posted get negative karmas. Then we also have the spammers promoting their bad programs anywhere they want to...and this is already very much controlled now because we have active people behind the scenes working to clean up the forum from malicious posts. As a moderator, I love giving away positive karmas to people who are making the effort in positing good threads and replies and I also dispensed negative  karmas for people who are not following the rules. All in all, we have to be careful with scammers as they are just waiting for the right time to punch us on our face. And yes they should be identified and be labeled as such.

PX-Z seem to have answered it all, a couple of times or more, I've also come across users wit the scammer badge as px-z had explained earlier, and I think that is even more bold and better than what we see on btt where red trust is what us used to describe scammers from useful persons, most especially when it comes to newbies. Newbies can misunderstand what the red tag mean or meant, but can never misunderstand when the see a boldly written "scammer" tag posted below the user's forum name.

So, in essence, there is more than enough punishment in store on this forum, meanted for scammers.

Rules in this forum are not so strict like in bitcointalk forum and they dont ban members so easy, but admin can give members different warning tags.
I didnt see anyone promoting any scam here in topics that I usually write, but it is better to be careful.

Glad to know that proven scammers are given scammer badge visible enough for everyone to see. It is a welcome development. I have never seen that, maybe I will have to look carefully this time around if I can see one.
I know that as the bull run is on the way, there'll be inflow of scam projects and innocent forum users who doesn't know how things might easily fall for them.

Yeah the forum have a good system in place for punishment of scammers, the scammer badge is much more very visible than just a red negative tag that it's until someone read the reference before knowing wether the person is red tag for scam or any other offences, much more also is the fact that scam is minimal here because pf the class pf people that are active here in the forum since the majority of us are well knowledgeable people from other places where we have experience alot of scam format and for that, is very hard for scam to swing off our asset.

Kingsden I think we still have alot of times and space to prepare and educate new members well about possible red flag projects and bull market scam attempts from fake projects and service.

@notblox1, can I make your statement to generally mean that scam is fading away because many potential victims are become so intelligent that they have known all the strategies of scammers?

Considering how centralised this forum tries to be, where everything depends on the admin, there may be difficulties in implementing such features as trust rating systems, and forum the experience on other forums, how the trust system have been hijacked and abused, I think taking a while before giving such power to individuals forum members will have to go through several considerations.

But all the whole altcoinstalks.com forum system is OK and good, and we hope to get more improvement, as the forum keep growing and gaining popularity among crypto communities.

surely if a user ends up having too much warnings, there should be banned already because if a warning does not prevent them from spreading misinformation and attempts of scams then there is no other choice but to have him leave the forum

i agree in my time here i have not really seen much spams that could potentially be harmful to anyone who interacts with the links and/or posts of a user

Here, things are bit different than bitcointalk. People get penalty and some of them can be lifted by paying fee or burning ALTT but their perks like giving Karma will not longer available for them and for habitual offenders tags will be issued and for plagiarism Ban but due to the evolution of AI identifying plagiarism is becoming difficult but they just post nonsense crap everytime so they will achieve nothing by posting AI contents and sooner when AI buster starts hunting then they will be banned too.

I haven’t come across any scammer with the scammer badge, or maybe I’ve not yet interacted in the board where users which such tags are being discussed, I mean the reputation board. I would love to see a user tagged with the scammer badge to see how it really looks like. I think the badge is much better since it’s said to be bold and written clearly for anyone to come across and see. A forum without rules for scammers will become a place for more scammers to reside in, it is good penalties are being taken on them after scrutiny.
