Donald Trump picks crypto-friendly JD Vance as running mate

Prospective Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump has chosen Senator JD Vance to be his running mate in 2024.

In a July 15 announcement on Truth Social, Trump said the Ohio senator would join his ticket as the vice presidential Republican candidate. Vance is rated as a “strong” supporter of cryptocurrencies by Coinbase’s Stand With Crypto initiative, based on positive social media posts and voting in favor of pro-crypto pieces of legislation.

In a 2022 financial disclosure report for the US Senate, Vance reported holding between $100,001 and $250,000 in Bitcoin through crypto exchange Coinbase. He also voted in favor of a joint resolution to overturn a Securities and Exchange Commission rule on banks reporting crypto as a liability on their balance sheets — legislation President Joe Biden vetoed.

I am sure that the cryptocurrency industry in USA is now excitedly supportingn the candidacy of Donald J. Trump and choosing  JD Vance adds more reason on the mix. One thing that I know for certain is that Trump is a politician. Politicians can see a way to have more votes. He has seen crypto to have many people and decided to let it be one of the reasons for his campaigns. He is mostly after getting to the presidential seat which is what matters to him most and nothing more. Not even crypto that matters to him but to be a president the second time.

I doubt that after the assassination attempt, Trump will require any support to win the next election. This new development will increase the trust of the crypto industry in him and his promises. I think we can expect a big long bull run after November when the election has finished and 2025 will be a great year for anyone dealing in Bitcoin & altcoins.

I think that a win for Donald Trump is win crypto, and from what has been happening in the US for the past one week, the Election debate saga, the assassination attempts Donal Trump, there are signs that these situations will greatly pave the ways for Donald Trump to get a land slide victory come November.
Again his choice for the position of vice president has additional boost to win and enhance the crypto growth. I believe it is now a "win win" for the crypto community.

As for Vance, yeah I saw some video of him talking about Gensler and how anti-crypto this guy is sitting at a SEC chair. And then he talks about Blockchain technology and what crypto can bring to us or to the American people.

Even if the assassination attempt was staged, it was a brilliant one because, right now, Donald Trump has enough supporters, and I'm sure that he will win the election by a landslide. It will be a huge win for crypto if he can stay supportive of bitcoin when he finally becomes the president, I reckon it will influence the trust many people will have on bitcoin too, and it will have a good effect on the value.

I agree, it doesn't make sense that Trump or his campaign manager will have to try to assassinate him and then hired someone as young as 20 year old to do this task.

Well Vance has been attack SEC and Gary Gensler so for sure he has know something about crypto and probably was a Bitcoiner and it could be the reason why Trump chooses him over Vivek, Vance could have the charisma to sway Bitcoiners towards them. So again, another brilliant move and I do agree that Trump's chances are high to get re-elected.

This is to show how serious he is in supporting cryptocurrency. when Trump was president, I have not agree on his actions, but on this one, he got my nod, let's admit it US is still a superpower. power what they do the world will follow, so if they have a cryptocurrency-friendly policy, that will be good in the Cryptocurrency community and will be transmitted to adoption by the world.

Picking him was a strange move. It's like going all out to get all crypto traders and investors in the US but I think that's unnecessary. Maybe there's more to JD other than his friendly stance on crypto? Perhaps the guy has deep connections with some people on the Republican side?

Recently, so many people relate everything about Donald Trump and his campaign to cryptocurrencies and it really baffles me, some people even believe that his assassination attempt contributed to BTC going above $60. At this point, i believe Trump has really gotten into the heads of a lot of cryptocurrency users, and there is nothing you can tell them that'll make them stop believing that Trump is a 'crypto guy'.

And if I remember it correctly, in 2016 Vance didn't support Trump. I think it's more on what Vance can bring to Trump. Vance has the support of the midwest and so it can bring Trump that needed votes.

Right now, no one is questioning him why he chooses a young VP for him so for sure Vance has the support of the party. For those who are not aware as well, he had his book turn into movie with the same title.
