Sheesh.. Why someone used that hardware wallet as daily wallet, worst is to put it on as a key chain or something. Worst thing to happen is if it falls to sewage or get by a homeless who doesn't have a single idea what it is, thinking its just a flash drive or just a key.
Well, if he got lucky someone found it and bring it back to the owner, since guessing hardware wallet pins will lock the device for several wrong attempts.

There is a good chance that ledger wallet has more coins than the whole Hyundai car with all the keys, since owner was offering $10k reward to someone who found this ''keys''.
This is nice example why it's not a good idea to carry hardware wallets as keychains everywhere with you, especially if they have a lot of coins there.
If I was the owner I would import seed words to different device and move coins asap, just in case.

If this is true and is not a hoax, I do hope in his last moment of thinking this over the owner decided to at least use a burner phone for this, because if that's this real number every scammer seeing that picture will think of a sim swap attack!
Also, the reward will make sure everyone who finds that key will ask himself why the hell are they worth that much, and just a Google search will give them their answer, so he might end up paying double!

I don’t know why he is trying to do that when he could easily recover it from his seed phrases and probably buy another ledger. I think he didn’t follow the instructions in the box where you could write your seed phrases already on The paper provided in the box.

Maybe he also looking for the car keys or something, but I don’t know why he would also attach his ledger there

Lots of people that time in July 4th. Maybe advertising in facebook will help him get it back but if that ledger was thrown in the garbage can already as swept by the cleaner, its lost already.

If someone finds it, it will be easy to blackmail him if he does not have a copy of the wallet seed, and from the advertisement, this seems to be true.
They will demand a larger amount, otherwise they will destroy the wallet or write the PIN incorrectly several times, and then he will have no choice but to pay more. This $10,000 ad will makes the situation worse.

So sad to see someone lose his investment because of carelessness. If this is not a deliberate action, why would sometime have an investment worth morr than $10k and will risk it all by not properly doing a backup. I'm not happy about this but it's going to be a lesson for others that are having large amount of money in their wallet and yet back up of there seed phrase are not done.


On a second note, my mind is telling me that this could also mean awareness for people that has money in their wallet but refused to do proper backup of their seed phrase. If this is true, then the message was deliver successfully.

I think this is just a joke for crypto investors. Perhaps someone really wants to find the keys to their car and apartment, and the Ledger wallet just happened to be on the keychain.

For a crypto investor, to save the crypto assets in the account, they can buy another Ledger wallet and log in again by their private key. This also helps us to further understand the value of the private key and the security of crypto when the holder is still holding and protecting the private key well!

It is very true that car keys are really important. With a Hyundai car, I think it's really expensive unless it's the top end right? I just hope that $10,000 would give it back to the owner and hopefully be worth it for him.

Even the most expensive brand in an official dealership won't charge you more than $500 for a key, you can get brand new Tucson for 27k.
As for the door locks, I wouldn't want those back either, the guys who come with them might have already made a double and he might be trailing me to see where I live.

It's either a joke or the guy desperately wants his ledger back!
