It means that Berlanga is a hype job that Top Rank wanted to build. But I think he has the balls to say that he wanted tougher fight. But perhaps says that they can't guarantee him for now at this point of his career to give him paycheck and then good boxers.

And so they parted ways, he get want he wants, that big paycheck against Canelo. But it could be true that after this one, he might not get a huge paycheck based on his performance. Everything in boxing now is pure business and promoters wanted their boxers to get some exposure to put this stock up before getting them to fight cash cows so that they can demand huge money as well.

I recall when he achieved 16 consecutive wins, all by knockout, which really started the hype around him. I also remember his controversial decision win against Steve Rolls, where he struggled but still managed to secure the victory.

Edgar is still young i think so maybe he could bounce back and become a champion someday with the help of his new found promoter.

You are correct, and if you observed when the final bell rings, Berlanga is all smile and hugging Canelo and might be thanking him for giving that opportunity to fight him. And for me, Berlanga is like a bigger version of Charlo.

And he could be just there to survived and claim his paycheck against the cash cow Canelo. As in the paper he wanted to go toe to toe, but in the fight, he is unwilling to go toe to toe specially once he tasted the canvass.

He can sure rest and then reset his career again with another fight next year.

There’s no doubt that Edgard Berlanga will rise to become a champion someday. The toughness and resilience he displayed against Canelo have proven his potential. This fight has undoubtedly boosted his popularity, and fans are eagerly anticipating his future bouts. With his determination and skill, Berlanga is on a promising path to greatness.

As for Canelo, i think he will go on cherry picking on his way to retirement unless HE Turki will intervene hehe.

Time to lock the thread now and as always thanks for your valuable comments.
