Should children be educated about Bitcoin?

I've read a lot of threads about whether children should be exposed to things like Bitcoin and at what age, and opinions are divided on this, probably because people in different cultures raise their children differently. Although I personally advocated the position that children should be allowed to enjoy their childhood as long as possible, somehow it seems to me that at some point they should be introduced to the fact that Bitcoin exists and how it works.

My opinion is that children should be at least 12+ years old to present such things to them, and of course the simplest presentation would be through a video like the one you can see in this topic. What is your opinion on this topic and do you think that children should be educated about Bitcoin?

I am a father of 3 myself, and to be honest with you, I have no plan of ever introducing bitcoin to any of my children until they are above 18 years of age respectively, this is because for a child or teenager that is still in school, I see introducing such one to bitcoin as a distraction, it's just like a student who has gotten him or herself involved in gambling, such one will hardly find time to ever focus on his or her studies.

So personally, I am of the opinion that children should be allowed to enjoy their childhood for as long as possible, when they have grown up and done with school, and are ready to start working and earning money for themself, I believe we as parents won't even have to teach them what bitcoin is since they would have already learnt it all themselves through social media and friends.

"Children" are too young to care about Bitcoin, in fact most of them do not even have an allowance.

But teenagers? Yeah, go knock yourself out. These are people who are just learning about how to earn money and what jobs are like and that kind of stuff and BTC could be that "spark" that makes all of the possibilities come into life for them.

I agree with you because including me I cannot teach a child about Bitcoin since I know that they have not really come of age to understand what Bitcoin is all about and besides there is no even need to rush our children into learning about Bitcoin because already we know that Bitcoin is not a complex investment that requires so much technical analysis, so actually anytime the child come of age they would always easily understand Bitcoin because they only need to have basic knowledge to be able start there Bitcoin investment.

At what age should we teach children trading? I think from playing with toys and learning numbers, they already know basics buy low sell high. What else should we teach them then, especially if they will not be able to use such knowledge until they hit 18. Exchange wont let them have an account if they are underaged. And how exactly should they learn? Sit and watch you trade? Or trade with their own money? I think children would find a more proper use of their money than trading.

As to bitcoin, I think we could show them only what is blockchain by using bricks, and that would be more than enough for them.

Based on OP question I vote for this answer "Yes, this should only be done with children aged 12+"

I think when children have grow up over 12 years old understand well about economic and easy for educating them about bitcoin from how to invest until get withdrawal. In my country Indonesian, many junior high school student around 12 to 15 years old have try to earn money trough bitcoin and altcoin by joining airdrop then spent half reward for investing in bitcoin.
Its would be their future investment and take much profit later exactly bitcoin more promising price increase years by years and when most of them grow up have much assets from bitcoin. I think bitcoin could be one source passive income since learned from 12 years old and growing up later will easily adopt with bitcoin feature.

It is your decision as a parent and I think that you as a parent can best judge when is the best time for your children to be introduced to something. I don't think that 18+ years of age is too late for that, but some kind of basic introduction that would serve as an orientation test could definitely happen at an earlier age.

It is possible that for some children, the introduction of BTC could act as a distraction, but I think that for most of them it would be just one more piece of information that some could add new information to in the future.

It is true that some people will find out about BTC from the media or from their friends, but I believe that in this way they will also pick up a lot of false information and that they will be exposed to much greater risks than if someone close to them explained it all to them with honest intentions.

That's worse imo, which seems to force children to be more specific crypto business, and we know that trading is riskier than just investing in bitcoin. I won't teach that even when my children are able to make their own money.
You better dig and hone your child's skills that have the potential to produce a lot of crypto someday, let's say your childs can become a writer on various crypto news portals if they like reading.

I don't know why there is a belief that bitcoin should or should not be taught, surely they don't have children, I'm 90% sure of that. 

Man, today's children, S XXI, have grown up in the era of  information at their fingertips, so, today, we have become (I'm speaking as a parent) guides of the information that our children receive.

A child between 4 and 6 years old, is on a platform such as... e.g. example; Roblox, buying and selling items, in some cases a little older, 10-12 years old or older, they design these products and put them up for sale, with something called Robux... then, that roughly gives you an idea of how young people learning today, and on perspective on how (they) to deal with bitcoin.

It is an issue that, based on the times we live in, young people today do not wait for information, they demand it.

There is no specific age that is agreed that is proper for you to start to teach your child about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as well as financial education. It is just advised to give your child a lot of childhood so that they develop in that aspect as well before you try to introduce them to more serious things like Bitcoin and cryptocurrency as well as financial investments and other opportunities in the economic space. Children can be introduced to bitcoin from an early age in a friendly manner, but they never should be forced to learn it.

About the recommended age of the child may be different for each parent, but I choose according to the vote that is made.
Teaching children about Bitcoin when they are 12+ years old, maybe this will be the age that is mature enough to give them knowledge about Bitcoin and so that they can understand and not be burdened with this new knowledge.

The most important thing is how our method as parents teaches these children, can learn while playing so as not to burden their brains and of course learning while playing will provide advantages so that the lessons are easy for children to remember.

I've did a quick Google search on what age does the children best to teach about Finance and it says at around 13-15 years old, and for me, I guess this is reasonable because at that point, their brain is somewhat developed already at least.

Although this is a subjective topic because not all of us will agree on it, I will teach my future children about Bitcoin and finance in general at that age as well. Like you, I also believe in giving our children the opportunity to enjoy their young years and let them do what they want to do as long as it will not have any bad influence on them in the long term. Teaching them the basics at age 12 would be a good idea, but if the time comes for me, I will teach at least the basics of money first and investing. I might teach him/her how to save his/her money first.

If parents are involved in Bitcoin investment and find it profitable then they will also teach their children about Bitcoin investment and most of their family members will do the same thing. But if parents are not involved then it is not possible that his children will learn from an early age but in my opinion earlier you learn more you will be profitable and with the passage of time you will be an expert in the crypto industry.

Another thing is that children always follow their parents so if they see that their parents are talking about something then they will also show their interest and without learning anything they will understand everything as they will have heard from their parents.

One should teach their children about each and everything from the age of nine or ten because learning is not an easy thing so time will be needed therefore do early if you want a positive response.

Your opinion may be right or not, but according to me, the best age for children to learn is 13 years, as everything they experience at that time has a long-lasting impact on them. We see our children acting or speaking in the language they hear in cartoons, which shows how easily they can pick up things and how quick they are. Instead of regular cartoons, we can introduce them to Bitcoin-themed cartoons so that they will enjoy them, and at the same time, they will learn from them. By the time they turn 13 years old, they will have a substantial amount of knowledge, and you can officially introduce them to the world of Bitcoin..

I picked the second option. Bitcoin is here to stay and has been integrated into our lives. The industries will evolve with Bitcoin as part of them, so it is better to teach children at an age when they can understand what Bitcoin is and how important this technology is.
However, the approach should be customized to their age so they can fully comprehend this technology.
