Bitcoin education is very crucial and both the young and old should not be exempted from having the knowledge about bitcoin, we have to take into cognizance the children as well in this aspect because they are the ones that will take over after us tomorrow in cryptocurrency and we need to start grooming them now in other to equip them with the basics for understanding what cryptocurrency is, all thanks to country like El-Salvador were bitcoin is been taught in schools among other countries that have taken this same idea up to educate the young ones.

Yes, education is very necessary and it is not only about bitcoin, but for everything. But of course we have to adjust based on their age. It is impossible for us to teach them university lessons to children who are still in elementary school.

It is our job to find out what is right for them. Especially if we are parents, we should already know our children's character very well, and we can include education about bitcoin.

So teaching them bitcoin at the age of 8-9 or 10 is good but not at the early stage that they are just entering school. Learning has stages. And as you said it has or follow different cultures.

You want to teach 8-10 years old about bitcoin or crypto? What exactly would kids learn that age? They are already shocked at that age that they are not kindergarden anymore and now experience school life, and you want to add a new thing to learn for them. I hope that kids will at least remember something when they are matures enough to use or trade crypto.

Honestly, I dont see much benefits from that knowledge at such early age. A can identically teach them how to take pictures properly, edit them in photoshop and sell at stockexchanges, but they will find such knowledge as “no where to use” and forget about it.

I've read a lot of threads about whether children should be exposed to things like Bitcoin and at what age, and opinions are divided on this, probably because people in different cultures raise their children differently. Although I personally advocated the position that children should be allowed to enjoy their childhood as long as possible, somehow it seems to me that at some point they should be introduced to the fact that Bitcoin exists and how it works.

My opinion is that children should be at least 12+ years old to present such things to them, and of course the simplest presentation would be through a video like the one you can see in this topic. What is your opinion on this topic and do you think that children should be educated about Bitcoin?

Teaching kids about things like bitcoin and cryptocurrency can be an important topic, but doing so should take into account their age, understanding and readiness level.

Starting at age 12 may be a reasonable age, as this is when they begin to understand basic financial concepts and become familiar with technology.  Teaching using simple and engaging videos, games or interactive tools can help keep their interest.

However, along with this educational process they should also ensure the joy of childhood and other basic life experiences.  Knowledge of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies can help them make future financial and technological decisions, but it's important not to make it overly complicated or stressful.

That is where most of us get it wrong because we are thinking of teaching them everything at once but that is not truth. As of that age, you can teach him what is Bitcoin only and what is wallet and the child will know it and when has grown up to another stage then you introduce more things and that is how it all started. You don't have to teach the child everything at once before you know that you are teaching Bitcoin no. I am a teacher and I know how to do all those things. You can even download some of the Bitcoin cartoons for your kids. Oh yes there is no benefit but you are preparing the child for his or her future. Since the child can go to school to learn then he can also learn bitcoin alongside. It is a good preparation.

Providing education to children is tailored to their needs, if we want to provide knowledge about crypto, we should see the needs of the child. If they are teenagers, maybe we can teach them crypto because crypto is very volatile and investing there is very risky. So we as parents should be able to know when our children are qualified to know crypto.

Teaching kids about things like bitcoin and cryptocurrency can be an important topic, but doing so should take into account their age, understanding and readiness level.

I'm a little bit cultural person, TBH in my view as i've said before on this topic Childhood is something that is lost these days due to technology like smartphones, I've seen kids under 10 and those kids know about AI and other software development more than me even I'm a recently graduated student of CS, Haha it makes me feel incompetent but I can for sure say that now as I'm entering the age of Man's from teens or maybe I've already entered, these kids lost their childhood, there a beautiful time for them to enjoy without the worries of the meal and other responsibilities there's decent for them to learn about such things, and I'm saying this Kids or teens below 15.

I know the importance of Childhood time, this is not the time to conquer the world, it's the time to enjoy in this ruthless society. So Bitcoin is good and educating kids about it will open a door for them to understand more about financial markets and the economy, it's way better than these shity CS graduation outdated courses. Still that's not the right time to feed them this information. I can say more on it but i think that's also enough.

I support your opinion. Children above 12 years of age can be given an idea about Bitcoin but it is also not mandatory. When someone crosses the age of 16 they can be given a proper guide about Bitcoin. see Bitcoin is money and a 12 year old kid will never care about money because he didn't learn the value of money at that time. when a child crosses the age of 16, maturity begins to set in and he/she begins to understand the difference between good and bad. so I think that's the perfect time to start teaching someone about Bitcoin.
Here I want to say that teaching them about bitcoin or educated them about bitcoin doesn't means that you need to give them bitcoin access for making transactions.
You can teach them in 12 years old I will also say that it will be better that teach them about bitcoin when they have gain the ability to learn the light ecomic or identifying the money. And here I found nothing wrong. You can give them direct uses permission when they become mature to use that understand the money or asset management.

Of course. When we are teaching children about Bitcoin, we only introduce general thing about Bitcoin. We only can share them the general theory about Bitcoin, we don't teach them to trade or invest in Bitcoin immediately.  :D

You can teach them in 12 years old I will also say that it will be better that teach them about bitcoin when they have gain the ability to learn the light ecomic or identifying the money. And here I found nothing wrong. You can give them direct uses permission when they become mature to use that understand the money or asset management.
12 years old is Junior high school student, right?
It is no problem if you teach 12 years old children. They can understand about money, they may try to understand Bitcoin. But it should be for general information about Bitcoin. We don't need to teach them how to invest or trade in Bitcoin.

In my country, The National Policy of Education stated it clear that, children should start formal education at the age of 6 years. And at that stage they have the cognitive and psychomotor and affective domain will be effective to be used. And when they start school what are they learning. At first, in the first three months, it is the memorising of the Alphabets and counting of Numbers from 1-100 and the next six months is for the formation of words and memorising of two letters words. And three terms formed one educational calendar in a year. And each term contains three months for learning and one month for examinations and testing the students like evaluating the students of what they have learnt. So at this early stage of education, children are not allowed or it is not good to teach them bitcoin but from the class three (year 3) and when they have reached 8-9 years. They can learn bitcoin because at that stage they can spell and write.

In my country, kids start learning even when they are just four. So, when they are at the age of 12 or above, they are already in 6th or 7th grade, which is the perfect time to start learning something new. I don't understand why do they think kids won't be able to get the idea of Bitcoin at 12 years old while the same kids learn HTML codes in their 6th grade ICT subject.

I believe it depends and varies from country to country. Kids at 16 years old can already code a website, and they say that children 12 years old is too young to learn about Bitcoin. Well, probably they are talking about their part.

I think 12 years old is the right age to know and learn about bitcoin and crypto. Children should understand this, because they will need crypto in the future. because everything will probably be crypto in the future, as many people here say.

That should be depends on when the child started it early education and also the cognitive and the comprehension level of the child. I put 8-10 because of the educational process of the child in my country and countries educational system differs. And now that pre-primary schools has started which are: kindergarten and pre-nursery and nursery schools to educate children as early as 2 years. Before the child reached 4 years has has started reading alphabets and letters with combined words. So the 8-10 years interval is vet good to learn advance subjects. And as I said, it depends on the country education policy.

Re: Should children be educated about Bitcoin?

Yes, education is very necessary and it is not only about bitcoin, but for everything. But of course we have to adjust based on their age. It is impossible for us to teach them university lessons to children who are still in elementary school.

It is our job to find out what is right for them. Especially if we are parents, we should already know our children's character very well, and we can include education about bitcoin.
What could be the first step is to let them first be interested in this crypto, after they are interested it will be easier for us to provide education, of course we must still adjust their age and also their ability to win what we mean.

As time goes by and if they have a very strong interest, then they will find out for themselves especially if they are already teenagers, all we can do is supervise them.

If we do not give our children basic knowledge about crypto, they will not be interested. Maybe in their teens they will start to be interested in crypto, if I introduce crypto to them early on so that when they start to be teenagers they have the desire and interest to know more about crypto.
