Winning in Exchange Events: Myth or Reality?
« on: July 30, 2024, 06:46:37 PM »
I have seen a lot of exchange events going on but haven’t come across many people who claim they won rewards from these events. Is it that people don’t spread the news of their winnings as much as they spread the word about participating, or do they not win for real? However, I did come across someone’s post saying that he won almost $100 by just participating in exchange events, which gave me a little push to start participating. But I am kind of lost on where to start.

I received a survey from primebit about a week ago, was told that on completion I'll get promo code worth $20 to be used for trading, which I did receive yesterday.

So yeah, it was win, under whichever category you wanna put this survey filling into.

There are pros and cons to it, mainly that this money can only be used for trading, but you would do it even without that rule on an exchange, I imagine, so that's okay. Thanks for your insight!

Are you referring to the exchange reward? You will see that most people will not win because of the terms and conditions. Example is that an exchange can tell you to refer just a person to earn $100. But that is not the end to it. If you read what else to do to claim the $100, the exchange can also included that the person that you referred must trade up to $500 worth of coin and so on in a way that they exchanges are only using people to benefit themselves than they are giving rewards to people.

Yes, most people care about publishing referrals but they do not care about publishing their winning news, after they got the money why would they care about publishing.

Anyway, these events are real in most of the known and new exchanges to attract more users, but often these profits can be used within the exchange and cannot be withdrawn, but there are some newly listed projects that create a competition on their new coin to encourage trading, where they give traders who achieve the highest trading volume real profits in dollars that you can trade or withdraw.

In the past, exchange events were more profitable. If we go back, some faucets would give you 1 Bitcoin for doing simple tasks during the month, but with the increase in the number of users and everyone becoming familiar with cryptocurrencies, the value of these exchange events will be less and the number of subscribers will be greater, and therefore the possibility of you winning one of them will be very small.

The last event that I participated in was the Binance's web3 airdrop campaign. I earn $1 worth of token from making at least $5 transaction, which is really not worth it. Can't complain much since that's just the nature of those events, I doubt those who won big would brag around on social media either. There's no way to compete as a small retail trader if I'm aiming for trading competition, so they are not appealing to me.

They are real, it's just that:
- prizes and rewards for the average Joe are quite small since, well, the average Joe with $1k at max in his account won't earn the exchange that money back in fees
- serious prizes and discounts are given to big pocket users or traders, and those are less interested in bragging about turning over millions in trading, nor are they interested in most cases in publicity

After all the exchanges must make money out of this, so if the value the campaign is brining back is low so will the rewards be.
