August Market Chaos: From Gains to Losses and the Search for New Opportunities

A lot of people have been able to take advantage of the current market and have sold a lot and then bought back into the market at a very interesting price. At this age, I think it is still best to buy continuously into the market.

August has really shaken things up in the market. Every day it’s just more red, whether in stocks or crypto. I was heartbroken when I checked my app this morning—our gains have completely evaporated. I had accumulated a lot of tokens through engage-to-earn events on Twitter, but those seem to have disappeared now. I’m really hoping for some social or deposit events to pop up soon, and this time, I won’t hesitate to sell.

When the market crashes, our portfolio will automatically follow the market movement, of course it will drop, very drastically as the decline of each coin or token that we are holding.

But does that mean our gains are really lost?
Not necessarily. If you only put it in your wallet and not in future trading, then be patient and don't panic. Just leave it like that, wait for the market getting better, then your portfolio will rise again as before or even exceed it.

If you panic and immediately sell the assets, that's it for you because of your pain. And it is highly not recommended to sell coins when in a panic situation.

Why won't they disappear? What was given out for free, in little quantity, has not much value. You don't hodl them for too long to expect many profits from them because the moment the market is shaken up negatively, they vanish into tiny air and do not increase in price any time soon. They might disappear totally from the face of the crypto market because they have no potential and strong marketing that will attract investors to invest in their project.

Next time you are opportune for free tokens on Twitter, sell them immediately to buy Bitcoin. That way you are sure of making little profits in the future

You mean you kept your airdrops tokens haha I also made the same mistakes as Nyan etc. I did not make a good profit from these engage-to-earn airdrops because people joined these events from multiple accounts and the profit got distributed among all of them leading to a lesser profit for a genuine worker.

I have learned it that never to join such an event from a single account and never keep your coins after you receive them in the hope that you will make a profit, I got 12.4 mavia tokens and the price went to $10 per token and I did not sell got greedy and now the price is around $2. I got these tokens in an airdrop. Easy come (money), easy go (money).

I believe we are in for a surprise this time because I observed the trend's past months and since after the halving it's been like that. No new all time high and to the best of my knowledge, this is likely the first time this sudden change is happening where the market could not experience bull immediately after halving and if you could recall, there was a kind of pump before the halving but after the halving, it seems bear market sets in and price began dangling and static within a particular range for sometime now.

I have seen green and back to dip and green again and back to dip. So I don't just bother anymore to check my portfolio. But I believe this is long term shaking off of weak hands till US election is over.

This is the accurate time of shaking weak hands off the market. Looking at the duration till after the elections is what I actually do not think can be possible. Maybe there might be a bounce back along the line or before the election. It is normal that during elections or few weeks before elections, the Crypto market begins to turn bearish causing a deep blood bath across all boards and only the strong hands could withstand the market situation at the moment.

I'll advise OP to go back to the drawing board. Explore low capped alts with utilities and be ready to hold .like you said. Weak hands are been shaken out. And once you pull through this, then you'll be fine..for low caps I'll recommend AIN, VET, BGB, JASMY. you can check them on bitget spot market or any other cex you know of..

You are right by saying that one should hold for a long time but honestly, it is nice one invests with funds they could afford to lose because in some cases some tokens may not be able to recover just like I said and what if the funds used was used banking on the profit from the trade to do another thing or to pay back loan, it means the investor would get stucked pending till the market picks up but if it is funds they could afford to lose, such sudden market drop or crash would not affect them because they fund's a spare funds they could afford to lose but notwithstanding, pending when the market recovers, they would recover their investment back.

In my opinion, choose a coin that is safe for investing in crypto, Bitcoin is the main choice. And if we use funds that we are prepared to lose that is good, but no one invests to lose, that's why we have to do research first before buying a coin so that we don't lose. Top coins are good coins for investment, so you don't need to think about losing as long as we buy when the price is low we won't lose.

Yeah, historically, August is not a good month for us, we have seen negative gain for this month maybe in the last 3 years or so. Not sure what it is with this month that Bitcoin or the rest of the crypto is really not moving to where we should be expecting  them. But I guess, there could be momentary lull and this is this month and we can't do anything about it. But we will just have to wait and see or at least let things settle down for a bit. And after that, we are in the last quarter and maybe we will hear some news that will put the momentum back in the market and see the price for Bitcoin at $80k-$100k price range and then altcoin market having their own version of bull run as well.
