Using Bitwage to get paid in bitcoin

Has anyone considered or have tried out using Bitwage in order to convert a part of their salary to bitcoins?

This is their website:

They allow you to use your payment from any US-based employer and convert part of it into bitcoin holdings and some Fortune 500 companies are using it.

I hear it's available in other countries as well.

So what do you think about this?

Nice to know that.
But I have been looking for the opposite. I have been getting my sig payments in Bitcoin and got a couple of project payments in USDT as well. Since Bitcoin and all other crypto are banned in Bangladesh, I am unable to cash my Bitcoin in fiat in legal ways. So, my country is not getting any benefits from my income.

The dictator government changed this week and I am planning to cash my Bitcoin legally so my country gets some commission from my income as well. I want to help the government by receiving my income as remittances. So, I am looking for a website where I will be able to send my USDT and receive fiat in my bank account and it should come as a remittance.

Sorry to hear that. So how do you survive in that situation now? But if you know any vendor before the military took over the government then you can contact the person to buy from you and you send the coins to the person. And if you guys are still using telegram, then you can try the telegram wallet. Or you can create a thread in the local board to know if anyone is interested to buy bitcoin and if there is any then you can sell their. But be careful.

Concerning the Op content, I think that site only works at US because here in my country no office pay with crypto.

This is perfect for freelancers as we all know most job was from overseas like the US so I think this is a nice way to convert portion of salaries into Bitcoin but so far I don't know if it's available here in my country or not because I haven't heard of freelancers talking about it here. But that was a good idea for those who prefer Bitcoin than USD.

This is interesting. However,  I would personally prefer to convert my salary to bitcoin by myself.

I think it is very interesting to have an income in btc.

My experience with signature and other campaigns gains in BTC in the last years is amazing.

Certainly it is a nice way to diversify the risks of my unstable fiat currency (Brazilian Real). But I do have a wage in my local fiat currency

Nope.
I heard about Bitwage and similar services but I never researched them more and I don't know how they work exactly.
If they are using some custodial wallets I would not suggest anyone using that, and I don't like when people know that I am getting paid in bitcoin.

This is definitely a good point.

There are many advantages to have privacy over your payments... and if you really want nobody to know you are receiving in bitcoin,  you shouldn't use any third party service because you don't know what they will do with your data  (who they will share it with)

Good old electrum is usually the best option

I am already using Binance and P2P to buy/sell Bitcoin and USDT. But that is not why I am looking for such a service. If I sell Bitcoin on Binance via P2P, my government does not receive anything, and I do not pay any tax. Since Bitcoin is banned here, I cannot do anything or pay taxes. But, I want to pay tax, which is only possible if I get the money from outside of the country via a Bank account. For example, I am looking for an exchange website which is based in Europe or the Middle East, and they have to send my dollars via bank account, and I will send them Bitcoin in exchange. I have found a couple of them. But the minimum exchange is too high.

If you have any opportunity like this, I think you should for it, but here in most of cases such opportunities doesn't exist. I think with salary payments you can set a good DCA plan for long-term investment, As for now, Bitcoin's ETF is already live, and here's a great opportunity according to the historical data with Gold's ETF.

It is a good site but I am still unable to understand its role as let's say I am a freelancer and I convinced my client to send me BTC but not from any exchange but from Bitwage, what's beneficial for me in that. Will Bitwage work as a middleman and once I will submit the project the client will send the payment to Bitwage and then Bitwage will send the project to the client and payment to me in the form of whatever token I want.

Or in order to receive BTC my client has to send payment in BTC as well. I walked through their site but the information was less and the tutorial video was also not very helping. You are talking about it so let's hear about it from you.

If it works as a middleman then I like the platform and if I will have the option to use it I will definitely give it a try.

Really interesting idea, I wish this was available in my country because the local currency is very bad and constantly inflated, but most likely this service will not be available here.

Anyway how much do they charge for this service, I mean there will be network fees and service fees as well that will be deducted from the salary, I don't know how much the fees are but if it is high then the service will not be desirable.

This is definitely a good point.

Especially when you see in news that someone is often attacked and blackmailed if it is known that they own bitcoin.
If someone at your work knows that you receive regular payment in bitcoin, than it is not that hard to imagine this information leaking to more people, and with that risk increases a lot.

Hm. In that case you might be interested in P2P platforms that let people directly make bank transfers to your account in return for some crypto you sell for them. I have been using Paxful, and I'm sure with the current situation you will find many offers in Bangladesh.

But as you know, it does not come to my bank as a remittance because I am selling it to a Bangladeshi who deposits local currency into my bank account, which I am not looking for. Let's say you are from the Middle East, and I gave you my bank account details. How will you send money to my bank? You won't find my local currency there, right? You have to send it in dollars or your country's local currency, which will count as a remittance in my country. BTW, I have already found some services that send money using SWIFT codes. But their minimum is too high. Another problem is that banks charge 10% fees if money comes using Swift code. IDK why.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, you want to receive international transfers, right? Or did I get that wrong?

I'm not sure how they work over there, but from my general knowledge, those kind require you to fill in a little more information like address, as opposed to a domestic transfer.
