I'll answer your questions with simple like as my real experience.
- Success, my experience is that it is good in terms of reducing Ethereum transaction fees for each transfer, for example, if I send real Ethereum to the wallet, the fee is around 3 dollars, while if I send Ethereum L2 to the wallet, the fee is only around 0.3 dollars.
- No, I have never held native tokens from Layer 2 Ethereum like ARB and OP, somehow I seem to be less interested in their native coins.
- Let alone for investment, I am not interested in becoming a Hodler of ARB and OP, let alone I have to buy and invest. Maybe my knowledge is lacking about ARB and OP and I may tend to like Ethereum Layer2 only.
This answers for owner this topic. Thank you.

Right now, both L1 and L2 in the Eth ecosystem are facing issues related to tokenomics and coordination mechanisms. L2s were expected to bring a lot of value and benefits to Eth, but unfortunately, they are doing too well and competing directly with Sol and Avax instead of supporting Eth's value.

Ethereum L1 is supported by Ethereum L2 such as arbirtum and optimism.
Ethereum L2 Arbirtum and optimism compete with Solana and Avalanche.
Solana and Avalanche compete in Ethereum L2 (OP and ARB) in what ways?
As far as I know, Solana and Avalanche are coins, which have their own blockchain (not token).
At this very moment, the EF is focusing on upgrading L1, and this could threaten the value of L2 tokens. If Eth L1 becomes fast and good enough, users will leave L2 to fully enjoy the value of L1, including safety, security, decentralization, good liquidity, and reputation in the market.
What stands for EF? Is that a new coin? Or is that an abbreviation of the Ethereum Foundations?
I will assume,
Ethereum L1 has a speed transaction of 3,000 Ethereum in 1 second with a transaction fee below 0.6 dollars.
Ethereum L2 has a speed transaction of 3,000 Ethereum in 1 second with a transaction fee below 0.3 dollars.
This almost the same comparison, what do you mean by that later all communities will definitely choose to return to Ethereum L1, isn't that right?
