Anytime you see growth in gambling, the first thing I check is if indeed the season has resumed, like right now we are just 1 week in the beginning of the season and many bettors and sport punters will be back to stake on their favorite games because of one thing and that is money, I believe gamblers are for money than the entertainment aspect.

1. Here in my place we treat it like that more than just an entertainment and I think almost all of us here do that. I don't also think gamblers here in my place just want entertainment when playing scatter because they are spending much money on it as they are chasing something good. In my case I play lottery because I am hoping for something like the jackpot or any life cahnging winnings but so far I am not that lucky.

2. I think majority will choose gambling as a form of some sort of generating extra income rather than making it as an entertainment.

I will agree with you on point one because that is the main reason why the number of gamblers are increasing every time to time because the lazy ones sees it as a short cut to riches in a little period of time. This will make them continue gambling and losing more money to gambling because any amount that they have, they will always think of doubling it. I cannot tell the situation in other countries, but in Nigeria, based on how the economy has been in the last couple of months, I have personally seen people who formally never used to gamble now showing interest in gambling as a means to make money in a short period of time. Gambling to make riches out of it is the most common reason why the increased rate of gambling in society never ceases to stop because most gamblers see gambling as a short way to riches. It keeps getting worse as league matches are in play.

I don't think this is ever gonna stop soon because betting companies keep giving enticing odds for bettors to pursue profits out of their bets, making many forget about taking gambling as a means to entertain themselves but a means of making fast and easy money.

FYI, Gambling is not a new concept it has been with us for atleast 1000 years so people always got their reasons to gamble and the most common reason is we want to make quick money or we are happy about making in that way which is okay unless this becomes regular habit we got off from what we're supposed to do in our life.

must be because of the app that we can easily download online. to which even kids today will have access to platforms. advertisements on TV should be limited to certain time of the day.

anything that's too much is becoming a problem in society. gambling is growing too much that even the teens in school are also fond of it that sometimes they were discussing it on the hallway of school talking about their bets. there is a long thread about this in the other forum, quite alarming that it becomes the school issue already.

It's also the increased visibility and online presence that made it grow further. Gambling companies have been more aggressive in their marketing efforts for the past 10 years at least. It's only now that you can see some push back from the Government. You can take the Premier league for example when there was a call to ban on sponsorships from these companies.

Usually a person has to work hard to earn money. But a gambler can own a large amount of money in a short period of time without any effort. Due to which the tendency of gambling among the gamblers is gradually increasing. Not everyone can own a lot of money but everyone starts thinking of this possibility as an opportunity.

Yes there are many who do gambling for a little entertainment along with their work. They want to temporarily forget everything from their busy lives and enjoy gambling.
