The problem is really on their own because I noticed that sometimes we are often fooled by websites or social media that provide information about free coins that generate 1-10 dollars. Instead of getting money, what is visited is a fishing website that ends up recording our activities and stealing our assets, such as being hit by malware or draining the wallet.
Yes, we have to be careful with that, there are many malwares spread on sites that offer something for free. Scammers will always have tricks and strategies that are always changing at any time and we as investors have to be careful with that, because in the past I was also often fooled by that.

There is no way a scammer can steal money from your wallet if you are not vulnerable to them and it can be through the email, through downloading of apps and software or even games or by connecting your wallet into some bad websites, all this can be avoided if you don't connect your wallet to the internet or use software wallets.

Another thing is that you may even use cold wallet and still get scam through some websites you connect to, anyone can write a honey pot contract to sweep your wallet when you connect with their website even though you used the cold wallet, the contract makes the execution without your knowledge because they are line of code you don't understand.

If we connect our wallet with their link of course they can take our assets, and I have also experienced this.
so it's better if we participate in aidrip, create a new wallet and not our main wallet because it is very risky. We still keep the main wallet so that no scammers can access the wallet.

Scammers are always bringing up new strategies to defraud. With a little more attention most times I got lucky to figure out most of them. A few I came across used words like "free tokens, card numbers, pins, passwords, pay first to activate withdrawal" and many other words, and in the real world, these words pose threat to the investor or a client.
The ones I fear most is the malwares, those are kind of difficult to figure out.

The latest thing I found is Binance desktop app malware. I have seen this on another forum where a couple of members already found such ads on facebook. Some Facebook pages are even spending money to promote their malware software saying it's Binance official desktop app and you can boost your deposit up to 50% if you use desktop app which is a virus.

As soon as you download the software, I guess it will corrupt your files or run some malware that you steal your various account credentials from your computer and even it can drain your wallets which may installed in your computer. So, you have to be careful when you browse social media as well. Facebook does not really verify these things when they approve ads.

therefore it all depends on the individual, where we as wallet owners must have 2 wallets 1 main wallet that is for real crypto assets without having to link to other sites or platforms. and one wallet for transactions
maybe this can minimize losses if hit by malware

This is why we have to continue to raise awareness in this forum so that members will not fall victim to these scammers. They  sometimes present them with websites to visit and earn up to 1-3 dollars daily and because they unsuspecting of these tricks, they visit the websites leaving the assets in their devices vulnerable to these hackers to access them and scam them of their hard earned fortunes.

Don't worry if you fell from that for the first time because what's important is you learned from it. The problem occurs when you did it for the 2nd time or the 3rd time. Getting fooled as a newbie is pretty much common because you have little to no knowledge about how these scammers are scamming people, and this is the reason why I always say that as a newbie, you should continue learning especially on how to avoid these scams.

Right now, scammers are everywhere, and with the bull run coming up, they will be more active than ever. They're just like predators online looking for prey. They will find a way to steal those assets that you're holding. Always beware especially with the websites that we are visiting and the things that we are downloading.

If you’re the type that always visit this type of sites that redirect you to other sites then make sure you use a different device to store your coins don’t keep them in that same device since there’s a high chance of it being stolen through malware that might be disguised as your normal file you were searching for.

Just look for a small device and keep all sensitive data there and make sure to never connect it to the internet and don’t just go about connecting different usb to it - it should be free from all forms of external devices and that will help prevent malware attacks to some extent.

Re: Watch Out for Crypto Scams!

There is no way a scammer can steal money from your wallet if you are not vulnerable to them and it can be through the email, through downloading of apps and software or even games or by connecting your wallet into some bad websites, all this can be avoided if you don't connect your wallet to the internet or use software wallets.

Another thing is that you may even use cold wallet and still get scam through some websites you connect to, anyone can write a honey pot contract to sweep your wallet when you connect with their website even though you used the cold wallet, the contract makes the execution without your knowledge because they are line of code you don't understand.

therefore it all depends on the individual, where we as wallet owners must have 2 wallets 1 main wallet that is for real crypto assets without having to link to other sites or platforms. and one wallet for transactions
maybe this can minimize losses if hit by malware

This could help reduce the risk involved in connecting wallets to websites for reasons best known to those projects developers.  Your idea I believe is what most crypto enthusiasts are using. It is not even advisable to connect wallet holding your funds and assets directly to the website you have no knowledge about. What best suit such is you having a different wallet for such exercise with no much funds in it. All you just have to do is to transfer a little fund you could afford to loose  maybe for transaction fee or so as it would be able to sustain whatever thing you want to do with the wallet.

Yes, we have to be careful when visiting websites that are vulnerable to hacking our wallets. Many people recommend that we use a new wallet if we do that, participate in airdrops or other events that ask us to connect our wallets with links, because there are a lot of scammers there.

Of course, the best advice is that if we are hacked, at least, it is not a wallet that we often use for every transaction, because as you said, there is always a request to connect our wallet with what is ordered and this is clearly very vulnerable to hacking. So using a new wallet for something like this is the best way to do it and there is a guarantee not to be hacked if there is something we don't want.
Especially now, there are so many airdrops and, because there are so many, we could miss checking them so that there will be hacking.

Yep, it's great to have an extra wallet for activities like that, because there are lots of ways you could theoretically get rugged going forward - different NFTs sent to you, contracts to sign, just shady projects, etc. - risks are high and we should stay vigilant while trying out something new in the space.

Scammers know that they waste no time, and it's an opportunity when they find a hole in someone to prey on. Those are smart; that's why the only usual victims are people who have no awareness of what the scammers are doing.

Thank you, Op, for the reminders you gave here on the subject you did. As long as you can triple the caution because those scammers suddenly appear when we don't expect it, at least if we are prepared and aware of the moves, they will not make us victims for sure.

Some scammers push for guilt for something, and some just send malicious NFTs or contracts, in either way, responsibility, much of it is needed to be aware of the risks related to what was discussed in this thread.
I hope nobody will experience a real loss from people who are into scams.
