I decided to create a simple monthly report at the end of each month so we can track, compare and evaluate the quality of the forum.

The traffic is increasing month by month, I mean, July only eats most of the traffic. Where did that traffic go? The traffic is now only 30k, while before it used to be more than 140k. In August traffic also reduced by 10k, which is a big number of what is happening. I think moderators and presidents should ban and tag lesser users hahaha just being frank, I know moderation is necessary for the smooth experience of the forum, and if they won't control things now then later they might be out of their hands like they have to work more moderate.

I am glad that you added the bounce rate thing as well. It will give us an idea of whether the traffic we are getting is spending some time on the forum or not. As we can see in March, the traffic decreased but the bounce rate increased.

I do not think the reduction in traffic is because of people that are banned from this forum and I also do not think it is because of any moderation policies. It could be related to cryptocurrencies. We are in the period that the market is not good. Bitcoin and altcoins have fallen. Most especially the altcoins. Expect more traffic during bull run.

Unfortunately, I only started collecting statistics from the beginning of 2024 and don't have data for previous years. I'm not sure if other statistical tools, like Google Analytics, can provide such data for the entire history of AltcoinsTalks.

The data tells us more than I expected, showing us the forum development. For example, the current crypto market downturn has also led to a decrease in forum traffic. I hope that in the upcoming crypto bullrun, we will also see growth and liveliness on AltcoinsTalks.

Usually, when the market is stagnant with slight movements up and down, it becomes less interesting for people to engage in discussions related to crypto, but we are not too far away from the bull run kick-in. My assumption is we will be there in Q2 2025.

As far as I noticed the activity on the English boards increased a lot than the previous months still there's a slight dip in total activity so probably less activity in the local boards causing this.

I always think that price oriented posts are not very useful.

We rarely see significant discussions which really carries any value when discussing prices and projections...

However,  bull runs always trigger higher forum activity and new posts, as more people come to join the forum and get interest in crypto

Kinda true, speculation is nothing but speculation however imagine when we are on bull season that is when the crypto will be on the trend over media so new users will be coming and that's when the people start to find the crypto forums whether its bitcointalk or ALTT.

Yeah, a bull run will always bring positive impacts to all crypto-related fields, including crypto forums like AltcoinsTalks. Experience has shown that the forum was very lively when BTC hit its ATH: this happened at the end of 2017 and 2021, and I think it will come at the end of 2025.

I think the market's sideways movement is the main reason why discussions about crypto have decreased, not the rise of entertainment applications. Everyone cares about income, they will come to crypto instead of scrolling TikTok if crypto offers the opportunity to become a millionaire thanks to NFTs or memecoins ^^

I don't know what is going on with ranking but we dropped to all-time low since we started monitoring activity.
Number of visits is also going down to all-time low compared to all previous months, but maybe that is a normal thing to happen during the summer season, and I also noticed decreased activity in other forums.

I bet these are those external/non-registered forum users stop visiting the forum on the month of August same on July as these 2 months prices of bitcoin hit $50k although it got back up on last week of July but it went down on August.

I got your point and I also agree with it because 110k users are not the ones who had alternative accounts or were doing spam they definitely left the forum for some other reasons too and the market's current situation is a good factor to consider. So this means when the bear market comes we will see more people leaving this forum, although in a bear market, there can be a lot of discussion and events of BTC.

What can we guys do to increase the traffic to this forum? I found a section in the forum-related board where they have a sub-section of heroes and legendaries and they discuss how to increase the traffic and contribute to this forum. I came to know about it recently so I will see how can I contribute.

It's nice to compare to get a better idea of what's going on
In July there were: Total Visits: 146.2K/month
Then in August: 41.6K/month

How to explain?
In my perception, I couldn't notice any difference because the threads and posts remained at the same number
What generated so many visits that this spike occurred?

can anyone tell if there is paid traffic to promote the forum?

In general, the forum seems busier, with more campaigns taking place, a lot of users posting regularly...

I agree that there is something to it, because summer in the Northern Hemisphere is always a time when many people travel, and in addition, perhaps part of the reduced activity comes from the fact that a part of the forum users are somewhat disappointed in the effects of halving (completely unjustified, of course). We can hope that the situation will improve in the coming months, and maybe everyone should mention this forum to someone they know who is interested in cryptocurrencies.

Of course it's a small step, but every journey begins with a small step

But I think I have seen a similar thread here in the forum. If you were the starter of the other thread, it will be nice to maintain one single thread and be updating it monthly.
