Congrats to Jokers on becoming our latest global moderator!

Having joined the forum in 2018, Jokers became our fifth Mythical member of the forum in March 2020, won the Best Moderator Award in 2023, and has been a moderator of various sections for as long as anyone can remember. As an integral member of the moderating team, they have worked closely with Presidents and admin in moderating the forum; in particular against spammers and AI bots, as well as multi-accounts. Voted on by other global mods and approved by our President, Jokers has become the latest appointment to our GM team since 2021.

Congratulations to Jokers for the new role. I don't fully know what his role will be, but the rank suggests he will be moderating subboards and their moderators as well. It looks like a heavy task, but his promotion says he is the right candidate, although I don't know what's the system here to promote him to this rank as I am not very familiar with the senate and president system of the forum yet.

Congratulations to Jokers on his new responsibilities. He/she is quite active and knowledgeable person. And his forum activity definitely deserves to be a global moderator. Thanks for giving him this responsibility. Hope it will improve the forum for good.  And he can play a very good role in the global. Congratulations again to the Jokers and best wishes for him/her

There's not so many changes as for now. I could moderate mostly everywhere before that as well, so just some more technical functions.

To elaborate on this a bit, before Jokes was a mod of various sections, and now as global mod he is a "site-wide" mod (so can moderate the entire forum). Technically speaking, this is the only notable change to being promoted to global mod. There are other permissions that have been granted, mainly to do with punishing users (giving strikes and such), though these aren't exclusively global mod permissions either, and they had access to some prior to promotion anyway.

Jokers role is otherwise to carry on as they were doing, simply with more reach over the forum as well as it's users. This also means they no longer require global mod support when moderating, as they are able to deal with all topics. Previously they could warn/moderate a user, but not necessarily deal with all the posts for example, so this promotion is very much for technical reasons more than anything.

He was otherwise voted on by other global mods (as part of a gruelling 16 months process may I add), as explained in the original post. I wouldn't say he moderates other mods though, that job is mainly for President, VP, or admin, even though may act in a support role for mods of other boards, as global mods usually do.

Jokers, congratulations on your progress. Now you have more new responsibilities, although I noticed you are active all over the forum, so I believe that you will manage to handle the new duties

I can only say that every new function that @Jokers gets on this forum is fully deserved considering that he is one of (at least for me personally) those members who are the most active in their duties on the forum.

I join in the congratulations and wish him much success on the forum in the future.

Well, I don't really care how long he has been a moderator here and I also do not care if he won 2023 best moderator or not. I also do not care if he is among the oldest users or not. All I care and know is that, he is fit and qualified for whatever promotion, post or title given him in this forum.
I remember when I newly teleported here, he was readily available answering all my questions and providing assistance. Congratulations on your well deserved promotion and/or recognition.

I guess many things can surprise you, but I had an option to partly moderate mostly all over the forum before as well. Now I have more tools, but...

Yes, you are right!

You deserve the all kind of congratulatory as you are good in moderating and even answering forum related questions, and now a promotion. What could be these technical functions, is it like recovering an account? Banning for extent level, and etc.

As for banning, I had this option for years, but we tend to give our users second chances, so I usually ban only obvious SEO spammers, in most other cases we try to convince users to stay in the boundaries of rules. As for recovering of accounts, than, as far as I know, no, I don't have such functions and I don't think there's a need of having such for mods, it's more like admin's duty. There are more technical things like more options on posts editing, etc.

That is a great news congratulations to Jokers who get his new job. I am not totally sure what he will be doing but it looks like he will be in charge of some sections of forum and people who help run them. This is big job but I think he can do it. I am still learning how forum works but it is clear that Jokers deserves this chance. I want to say congratulations and good luck to him in his new role. I am excited to see good things he will do.

I've always thought (and said) that Jokers is a moderation machine and an example to follow. I don't think there is anyone else on this forum who deserves that promotion right now.
