Why Ethereum is underperforming?

I will add my personal opinion why Ethereum is underperforming, my classic reason is that Ethereum is an old coin but lacks new innovation.
Ethereum also has a very large market cap so that it will be very difficult to increase by 200% because it requires a very large market cap.
Ethereum also reached a price of 4,000 dollars in December 2024, but now it has dropped to less than 2,000 dollars, that means there has been a decrease of up to -50%, there is nothing wrong with this but Ethereum seems to need a little push from influencers so that it can rise again past the price of 4,000 dollars.

Blockchain or network? I'm sure blockchain will last a long time. But a certain network may be changed with a new one. Sure, it is about the competition and people's choice. Since Ethereum network is quite expensive, people move to another networks. Ethereum looks having no big innovation. This makes people be unsatisfied, they may start leaving Ethereum. But if Ethereum team can make a big progress again, it will change its current situation.

I think ethereum has become too clumsy, and it will take a lot of effort and time for its team to change something. In my opinion, a large number of L2 networks didn't solve the problem of ETH scalability but led to some stagnation and, consequently, loss of interest from investors. In other words, ETH is losing the competition to other projects, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if, one day, the second line on CMC will be taken by Solana, BNB, or XRP.

Ethereum network is very expensive then others. I think that it is the best reason for Ethereum underperforming in cryptocurrency market. Because if we follow in cryptocurrency market, we can see that others crypto currency network fees was very lower. So in this situation people want to avoid this network. I also believe that if Ethereum network fees when reduce, then popularity of this currency will be increase gradually in cryptocurrency market. So in this competition era lower fees will be large progress for Ethereum. So we should wait until in reduce fees for get best profit from Ethereum.

Gas fee will always be a reason for people to choose which network they will use.
The ethereum network is indeed high in cost compared to BSC and Solana, although we can use other ways.
And current users prefer to use the solana and BSC networks than ethereum because the gas fee is low. If the ethereum team can fix and lower the gas fee from ethereum, it is likely that ethereum's popularity will increase again.

The thing is that by now, at least ETH should have reach a new all time high. Because as prime mover in the altcoin market, it should have been doing great in this bull run. However, many are disappointed that the price is not even getting closer to it's top price while Bitcoin have had several all time high already.

Of course, we certainly hope so. ETH must surpass the ATH and must reach a new ATH again. Hopefully it can really reach $7k in the alt season later, although it might be quite difficult, but maybe this can be a hope. At least, I personally will start to TP ETH maybe at $5k later. The condition we are seeing in Ethereum market I don't think it will touch ever on 7k in this bull season even we saw the altcoin season in the next few months. Because Ethereum is constantly making mistakes in taking their steps and as a result they have to come to this current situation. So the situation of Ethereum coin is much like what we think of in the case of various ponzi scheme coins. For example, there is no limit to the maximum supply of the coin and at the same time the coin has shifted from POW to POS.
