Dude, You're in CryptoForum and You're Talking About Ton coin which  is a Cryptocurrency not stock or forex trading.
First of all I would like to ask you if the 1000 dollar ton coin you want to invest is your lazy fund?  And what do you expect to lose? If my answers to these questions are positive, then I will tell you that you can invest there.
But it must be kept in mind that the investment must be long-term, otherwise not much profit can be achieved from here.  And I think if I could afford a thousand dollars I would consider investing on toncoin.

I think for your long term investment it is the right decision because we all know that $TON is one of the best altcoins that has experienced a rapid price increase in the last few months.

but you should not just put all your money on $TON because it is quite risky, still prioritize investing in bitcoin (just a suggestion).

I don't know, but I see big stocks like NVIDIA seem to have good performance... in the last 1 year +127% while Bitcoin in the last 1 year +113%... we did see BTC $70k a few weeks ago, yes because its volatility makes its value fluctuate very quickly.

If asked to choose between stocks and TON for $1000 in my hand, with my current financial ability.. I would choose big stocks,,, my choice could be Microsoft or TESLA... yes my orientation is long-term income. And $1000 for me is a fairly large amount... I don't dare to take a big risk on TON for $1000, yes because I'm not ready to lose that $1000 (as people say, invest with money that you can afford to lose).

TON is a very good ecosystem and its future is very good so if you invest well now a long term holding will give you very good profits. So if you can afford to invest $1k then you can invest.  I think the possibility of loss in this case will be very less.  But of course you have to invest for long term. The current market is very unstable because Bitcoin is down sometimes so you can't panic after seeing this unstable situation. I am not giving you financial advice. You can invest a standard amount in TON after doing some more research on TON.

Don't make purchases because of FOMO, I agree with you, you should do research before buying coins. but TON seems like one of the potential coins, if OP has $1000 capital to invest in TON, you should make a purchase when durov was arrested because the price of TON dropped to $4. Currently the price of TON is going up again, but it's not too late we can still make purchases because the bullish season is still happening next year and it seems like TON will reach its highest price next year if my prediction is the price of TON will reach more than $10.
