older people are the easier prey to this deluge as they are less technologically-updated so if you are already in your advanced years and you are in crypto (just like me) you must be aware of the things you can do to safeguard your very own interest.

They are targeting them because they are too innocent for this cruel world and they are easily scammed by them. They even share their seed phrase sometimes but like you said, we are now moving into their place and we now think we are well-known about the current state of technology and when we are in their place, these spammers won't be able to scam us anymore.

They can also change their methods and we can also be scammed at any age if we don't have up-to-date knowledge, so we should give safety and security measures knowledge to everyone who started their crypto journey this year or the previous year.

Don't get me wrong, scammers are definitely responsible for what is happening, but a large part of the responsibility lies with people who should have grown up a long time ago, and not believe in fairy tales with 30+ years on their backs. Maybe they should blame their parents for not teaching them better, or they should blame the system for not educating them better through primary and secondary school education.

I have no doubt that such data (if we consider them accurate) will influence the legislators to pass some new laws and tighten the existing ones, but in my opinion, two things are key - education from an early age, and much stricter punishments for those who are caught and convicted.
