What is the point of Senators role? And what is the deadline for making votes and announcing voting results?
You should also explain in simple terms what powers and responsibility Senatores have in AltcoinsTalks forum.

Is this always true? How about the timeframe of every voted changes from elected, Is it always followed? Or its always depends on the admin if when it will implemented.

If I can suggest it should be an odd number so 13 members is better (assuming admin/president doesn't have the right to vote as a senator)


Since there are 3 (or 4) members to be elected it is better to suggest names in this thread and start voting based on the list of candidates.


Voting is done by positive and negative points (you can vote for 3 or 4 members whether negative or positive)


Set a rule to prevent conflict of interest.


Finally:
It will be easy to circumvent the current rules.

This sound great to me, I guess the forum is for the people a d admin have taken the right steps in running this forum, kudos to you admin and let see how the admin work together for the improvement of the forum.

I feel a bit embarrassed to ask this, but where are the list of candidates?

Is this like a normal election where there's a ballot of the list of members that you should be choosing from, or is this a free-for-all where you can vote for anyone?

PS. If it's the latter, then obvious steps of course have to be taken to make that newbies, spammers, etc. do not qualify for the senate.

I have a friendly suggestion: It would be good if you did not allow edit votes once they are done. If someone wants to change their vote, they should delete their previous vote (if they cannot do it themselves, they should report to delete the post) and write a new post. Moreover, do we have a list of candidates? Or can people vote for whoever they want? If voters have a minimum rank limit, I guess the candidates should also have a rank limit.

That wouldn't work. I'm keeping an update of votes, so if users edit their post to include a new vote it will be not be counted.

That wouldn't work. I'm keeping an update of votes, so if users edit their post to include a new vote it will be not be counted.

Nice to stumble on this thread. I have been seeing senators badge in the forum, not knowing that it is an elective position. I had thought that one needs to burn some ALTT coin to get it. LOL
I remember I congratulated Jokers few days ago for his promotion as a global mod, is it nice for mods to double as senators?

Why aren't the candidates allowed to present their programs first, what exactly do they plan to do if they are elected... Some open debates... People should know who they are voting for and why.

I voted a little too quickly, I only saw later that senators can have a significant influence on the development of the forum and the implementation of new things. I'd rather see bitmover here instead of Jokers, he showed more commitment to that in the previous period. However, the others made up for it, so it seems to be going in the right direction.

This validates Phil's concern that votes should be edited, which I strongly support. One should be able to change their votes till the last day of votes collection. Anything less than this could be going against Freedom of voting.
If we are talking about development of the forum, there's a user who has tried alongside bitmover in this aspect, I think his username is PX-Z.
