Well since it was really not mandatory I think it is always up to the said winner to either donate or not. They are not obliged to do so unless they are willing to share the blessings and luck they've got. It is not a responsibility but the will to help others is a bonus.

It is a good idea, but there are a few questions that need to be answered: how do you identify a gambling addict? This question is important because most core addicts are unknown, and even if family and friends are aware, they may not associate it with addiction support programs, and the money donated to these programs will ultimately be used for personal gain rather than the purpose of the programs.

From another perspective, some program coordinators may stage individuals who pose as addicts in order to profit. This is just to give the impression that the program is truly helping gambling addicts in order to continue receiving donations. All of this will undermine the program's core purpose.

Personally, I do not believe in making donations to addiction support programs for the reasons stated above. However, I would rather support a crusade against addiction. This will benefit gamblers greatly because it will expose them to the dangers and consequences of becoming addicted. This crusade will teach gamblers how to gamble responsibly and within their means. Yes but it's not something they should be compelled to do, it should be done out of their own free will, it's part of a way of giving to the community but it's not really their responsibility if you ask me. Addiction support or awareness programs are of vital importance to reach out to a lot of people dealing with this silent killer which is gambling addiction, it requires a level of sponsorship and this is something that the government of any country wouldn't care about or get involved in. Winners can collectively give out little tokens to facilitate this movement, doing this would take absolutely nothing from them and it would be of benefit to a lot of people, you don't know who you might be saving

You know very well that addiction can go two ways, it either you make money from gambling or you lose money from gambling and the two can really get addicted while doing it. So my question is if the winners is donating to charity to help those addicted to gambling and losing money continuesly, who is going to save them that are winning and also addicted?

I think priority is always given to those who win money from gambling with less attention about gambling and focus is given to those who lose money to gambling but I hope you also know that a person that is addicted to gambling after losing everything can still get back everything with one gamble and all his worries about addiction will be gone for good.

they are not obligated to donate but it would be welcomed by the institutions who support programs to helping addicted gamblers. you just can expect these donations to flow even if they encourage winners to tip for the addiction programs, they even get some complains if those pages are prompted to the winners saying consider donating to the programs.

the churches while they are free of tax and are receiving more donations from its members, i think should also help addicted gamblers not just the lost souls.

However, I didn't see it logical attributing to people who are found addicted and to me it's a way of paving ways to enhance and pioneer gambling additct. If you are referring to gambling addiction, then donation from gamblers sounds more like a massive competition to those that are addicted. I'm not actually saying that making donation is bad, but this idea doesn't sound ideal for a gambler who has won massively to make donations to his/her fellow gamblers that has fallen on the wrong path to gambling. It's just like having a smoker who happens to be a brand ambassador to a cigarette company, and makes large sum from being an ambassador. So, will it be ideal for that smoker to make donations to his/her fellow smokers that has fallen on the wrong path to smoking?. There are other programs that donations can be made to. But not sure if it's ideal to make donations to those who indulge in similar activities as the donator.

No, I don't think that a gambler has a obligation to donate his winnings to support programs. We don't have the responsibility. If there will be one, it could be the casino themselves who should do it.

And I think there are some casinos who already has this program already, batting for gambling responsibility, and then helping non-governmental organizations to setup programs like hot line or even rehab centers for gamblers.
