Trump's crypto launch announcement, a political strategy or a great developmen

On the 12th of September, Donald Trump announced  the the launch of his son's new crypto project which was tagged "World Liberty Financial". Trump and his family have been promoting this particular project for the past few weeks.
Out of curiosity to know more and pick the mind of crypto experts in this forum about this particular move by the US presidential candidate, I'm asking if this is a political strategy to win the hearts of crypto marketers in the US so they can vote him or should we be happy that it is a great development to cryptocurrency and a bid to significantly attract more investors to the crypto market

US president election becomes more interesting because Trump looks very enthusiastic with crypto industry. Not sure, which his goal by doing this, but it looks like he is trying to ensure the crypto supporters. He is getting far to support crypto because I heard that Harris changes his mindset about crypto and support crypto as well. Two candidates appear to be trying to grab attention from crypto supporters. Sure, this is very likely as a political strategy.

However, there is no guarantee that those candidates will keep their promising to support crypto when they are elected as a president. But this surely makes crypto world becomes more popular. I hope this will trigger a huge increase in Bitcoin and altcoins prices. It must be for temporary only but it is good for crypto industry.

I think this WLF is going too far and will have more negative impact on his campaign than they have anticipated. This act reminds of that popular person (for good/bad reason) who openly supported cryptocurrencies and then tried to launch his own. IIRC, it's being branded as a privacy coin but it failed because nobody took it seriously.

Did Trump actually make this statement? If yes, is this not risky for his presidential ambition? He is just too blunt and that is why I love him. Trump could be loosing this election because of powers that be. I am yet to confirm that Trump made this statement.

A political strategy or a great development? I think the answer is a mix of both...but depending a lot if where on the side of the fence you can be staying. Like Harris/Walz supporters might be viewing this as just another trick or a ploy to get votes which, of course, both sides are actually playing to the max until a new president is sworn in by January 20...or can even go beyond that as politics is everyday. I have not looked at this project by sons of Trump and maybe a non-biased cryptocurrency and DeFi expert would be the one appropriate to look into it to assess its value. Now, we don't know if  "World Liberty Financial" is just a temporary one or will really last into the future...and that is something maybe worth to wait. As for me, I am more inclined to Trump as compared to Harris - certainly both are flawed but more and more people are convinced that with Trump there is a clearer vision on what he will do.

Anyway, I find it very strange that a former president and presidential candidate would issue a cryptocurrency for his son, I mean does he have enough time to run his campaign and be busy with such things?

Recently, several coins have emerged that exploited Trump's popularity and support for cryptocurrencies and created coins that they claimed belong to Trump, such as MAGA, DMAGA, DJT, TRUMP. I expect that all of these tokens have nothing to do with Trump and are just propaganda to gain great popularity.

You are right that this can be a strategic decision. The main objective of such campaigns around the elections is to win the hearts of crypto lovers. Bringing them forward in their support. By doing this, the number of his supporters will increase for sure. People's interest in cryptocurrency will increase. People who love crypto will definitely try to support Trump. Although Harris will also support this, ordinary citizens want to see proof of who is actually more passionate about crypto. Since these two leaders have been able to realize that crypto has a large community it is no less for crypto lovers. We expect the SEC's behavior toward crypto to change in the future. Whichever party comes to power, crypto will move at its own pace.

Yeah! The statement was posted on his official X handle and for a content with such important information to make it to his account, it simply means that he was the one that permitted it.
Rather than being risky, I think the statement is a good strategy that will help convince the larger population of the US electorates(especially crypto marketers) to vote for Trump. I think we're going to get more information concerning the statement on 16th Sept.

He passed an extremely bad bill that started on dec 1 2018. which affects all usa trades of all crypto. my tax returns have 200 pages because of his law. i do not like him at all and he is likely to fuck crypto up bigly.

Does this mean I like Kamala not much. But btc ath was under biden in 21 and in 24. so I am betting she is more likey to help a new ath in 2025.

In my opinion, this approach is 100% political strategy to win the crypto community over, if he’s had this Vision, then why wait till now before making it open to the public. If there’s one thing I know about Trump, that’s the fact that he’s a businessman and a politician, and one quality that these both profession has is the ability to be strategic and to utilize the ability resources and use it to their advantage. Trump is fully aware just how big the crypto community is and if he can successfully win them over to his side, it’s gonna be a big plus to him. For someone who has an upcoming election, isn’t he supposed to be focusing on his campaign and how to win? It’s impossible to divide his attention and give some attention to crypto, except of course it’s one of his political strategies, It’s very obvious. I do welcome the innovation he plans to bring as it’ll help the crypto community if he actually keep to his words, but I strongly doubt that he’ll do everything he’s saying.

Well, If Trump have anything to do with DeFi or crypto projects then it could be something big either for him in terms of financial benefit or in terms of political strategy. Since he is an entrepreneur, his participation in the world of crypto might be a way to invest in new business opportunities there, so waiting for more information about it is crucial in order to identify the goals and consequences.

Which based on his bankruptcy techniques means he is the worst choice possible for btc.

He has had many bankruptcy  cases. So his sons would have zero issues attacking any crypto coin to help theirs. Or planning to bankrupt their coin while having straw people play shorts on it.

I think Donald Trump new crypto project World Liberty Financial  is way to win votes from people who like cryptocurrency. He wants to get their support by endorsing this project. Trump wants to look good to people who like new technology especially younger voters. But I think his main reason is to get political gain.


This project might bring more attention to cryptocurrency but we should not forget that Trump main goal is political. We should look at project quality not just because Trump is involved. Project success should be based on its strengths not just because of Trump name. We should be careful and not support it just because of who is behind it.
