Just 3 websites of crypto recovery fraud have been seized by the FBI.

https://news.bitcoin.com/fbi-seizes-websites-linked-to-crypto-recovery-fraud/

But there are still many of them out there. Recovery services are fraud just like cloud mining. Do not be careless with your seed phrase backup because looking for recovery service is like you are looking for someone to steal your coins from you.
The law enforcers are doing great work First, they arrested 12 robbers who were robbing people's cryptocurrency at gunpoint by invading in their homes. Steps like these are putting a good image on Kamala, as Gary and other authorities are doing the hard work no doubt but under the administration of Biden and Kamala also comes under the administration of Biden, so it indirectly gives Kamala a good image.

Overall, these recovery sites are really easy to find, and if they will go after them like with full potential, they will find hundreds of other recovery sites, but I think they also have to work under their jurisdiction. I mean, if the sites are not accessible to US citizens, then I think they can't do anything about it, CMIIW.

Recovery scams aren’t new, unfortunately, and the FBI seizing just three websites barely scratches the surface. These scams prey on people’s desperation after losing their crypto, and it’s rampant. The best defense? Guard your seed phrase like gold. Recovery services are often just as sketchy as the losses themselves, and you’re essentially handing over your keys to thieves. Stay vigilant!

The fact that the FBI seized them means that they've done some real damage to a lot of normal people, first of all. They aren't going to seize some random crypto recovery scam page unless wanted people are behind it. So these pages must have been so big that they were regularly stealing from people AND breaking some laws in the process. Exactly which, I don't know. There are no laws about crypto scams yet.

Coincidentally a few minutes ago I read this, before reading the topic you created: https://cointelegraph.com/news/scammed-crypto-crime-recover-lost

Of course I am skeptical of this kind of service, considering the irreversible nature of crypto transactions and also the better level of privacy, making it all less convincing... maybe some people who no longer have hope will use the service, with the note that there are some limitations in providing personal data, thus limiting the service owner from reaching further regarding the client's finances.

It takes some real proof from the service provider to be truly trustworthy... and as a client we also have to limit what data we are allowed to provide... if he asks for data that is too sensitive, then stop rather than you get too big a risk.

even with “solid” proof you can never be too sure because anything can be fabricated these days someone must be so desperate to succumb into using this kind of services but you are just doing more harm than good to yourself

do not put all your funds in one place and keep secured do not be too complacent and comfortable with your information being shared everywhere

If people are only educated that Bitcoin transactions are irreversible and accept it as a fact, yet people are so desperate that they can get their lost funds back so they avail of their service.

We have people here who came on social media and forums to offer their service but cannot answer the part that Bitcoin is irreversible, and they offer a lot of vague explanations.
Private keys and pass phrase are the only keys to your coins; no service can retrieve them without them.

Once Btc is lost that is the end of it all, many expert has express their concerns about lost Bitcoin, it is absolutely irreversible and very difficult to trace.

Anyone telling people online that he/she can recovers lost Bitcoin is just another scammer. Many Bitcoin users wants to remain adamant after these several warnings, unfortunately, they will keep losing funds in an attempt to recover a lost or stolen Bitcoin.

Again, i am still doubtful, though some people claim that they can recover lost Bitcoin by reporting through the FBI but this has resulted to more fake FBI online defrauding crypto users on the of Bitcoin recovery. lt us be very watchful, listen warnings and be vigilant.
Promises of recovering lost BTC are just one of many scams in this market, including Twitter-based BTC and ETH airdrops, new AI-related ICOs with promises of 1000x token gains. Statistics show that investors have almost no chance of recovering scammed assets.

The best defense is to educate oneself to protect against these market scams. Investors should curb their greed to avoid unrealistic promises and take all necessary measures to safeguard their private keys from online threats.

I am guessing that some of them are new to the crypto world and they do not really know how things work here, so upon losing their coins, they are in a state of panic and distraught and they make themselves easy prey for these crypto recovery scammers. It is bad to be scammed, but imagine being scammed twice while trying to recover your initial loss, crazy stuff.

It might also interest you to know that some people end up getting scammed more than twice and the worst part of it is that, some do not even know it that they were actually scammed. A lot of people in the crypto space are making several mistakes that often cost them severe losses. This is often because a lot of them delve into the crypto space simply because of hype and FOMO, without doing their due diligence or bother to acquire the basic knowledge needed to stay safe in the crypto space.

Yeah, just like in this case, it's possible that the people that have been scammed will go to this kind of so called recovery services and thought that they can actually help. And so they will be asked to deposit some money again so that this services will do their job.

Unfortunately, it's gonna be too late for the victims as they will be fooled again by this services. It's just to bad to hear this kind of horror stories, nevertheless, it's a very expensive lessons to learn.

Scammer is everywhere and there are lot of people still fall from it, heck even myself sometimes cant see the different between phising site and the original site  :-X
the more scammers there are the better they get which is why we should be smarter than them it is the best way to combat these people who do not want to earn money cleanly and with dignity if you do not educate yourself and protect yourself you are purposefully making yourself vulnerable and putting yourself at risk

I think with this, i may only partly applaud the security agency for their perfect job in cutting down the edge of scam in crypto, because the situation that applies here is nothing  than a pure way of scamming people and increasing to their predicament, you cant imagine when someone loses money and then at the cause of getting it recovered he still loses more and more, maybe the FBI should focus more on scam and leave other interesting users to live in peace with cryptocurrency.

Recovery is near impossible in bitcoin when you lose it, if that wasn't the case, don't you think someone would have already reached out and grabbed satoshis one million coins? By today's value that is 66 billion dollars if I am not calculating it wrong, which means if it was possible to get into any wallet, then they would. Phrases, and all the normal stuff that you get with wallet ownership, is the only way to get in, if you lose them then you lose access and there is absolutely other way to get it back again. If you are faced with someone who tells you that they can recover, do not believe them and never pay them.
