Being new member is not an excuse to check or to know what's the difference of mirror and not. Even the name, looks and pages of the two forum is too different to consider and ask if the two is mirror.

They both are crypto forums and created using the simple forum machines (smf). But being specific about different things. Bitcointalk is a bitcoin discussion forum as originally created by satoshi himself. Though there are other cryptocurrency discussions in the altcoin sessions.. but the altcoinstalks is Majorly for altcoins and the general crypto eco system.. just don't get it confused, you can discuss what ever related to crypto on both forums.

Thank you for your understanding. And best wishes for you the next journey on the forum. You must have understood by now that bitcointalk and altcointalk are two different forums but the similarities between the two forums are for the crypto community.
Hope you post quality full topic next time but I would like to suggest you which ever forum you join read all the rules first before posting.  Since this forum does not require any extra requirements to rank up, it is often seen that users increase their activity for account farming, which tends to result in more spamming.
And if you have the option to lock the topic, I don't know if there is this option for 'baby step' rank.  If so, you can lock this topic.  Because I think you got your right answer.

The only thing they have in common is that they are both cryptocurrency forums, altcoinstalks is not a mirror of bitcointalk, they operate differently and have different rules, if you are a member in the both forums, i believe you should know that already. I know you are new here and it is understandable to be curious, but you can find out about certain things yourself.

Yes, this forum is somehow similar to Bitcointalk but at the same time it's a different type of forum. Most of the members that are on this forum also are members of Bitcointalk but it's not a mirror of Bitcointalk.org but a whole other forum.

They may have some similarities but definitely different from each other, if you're used to the other forum, then you will know that they truly were different  from each other, for the sake of those that have been on the two, they will understand more better in ways in which are like the rules and many other patterns which may suit to our own taste and we go by them while some may not be as before because change has occurred..

similar in a sense that it is for crypto but not the same

you do not need to be a member of bitcointalk to be a member here and vice versa there are a few differences as well when it comes to ranks and rules i also do not think bitcointalk has badges and etc so no they are not the same but both critical for our community

Actually between bitcointalk and altcoinstalk have any similar exactly have board for discussing about cryptocurrency from bitcoin, altcoin and all thing related with crypto.
But both side have large difference from how explore ideas and regulation raise the higher level more easily with altcoinstalk forum than bitcointalk. Maybe you can start and increasing post to fee how easily feature and regulation with altcoinstalk forum than bitcointalk for increasing level of your account.
You can participants both forum but if want increasing account easily to higher level or rank altcoinstalk have easily way than bitcointalk forum.

No this is not a mirror or copy of Bitcoin talk it's just another forum which is totally have different layout and different managers (I suppose) and a dedicated admin who listens to their members and always doing something busy dude.

Well this forum has a lot of sections than BTT, has lots of local boards than BTT, has lots of badges like senators, moderators, etc than BTT, and besides these few badges, it has more ranks, more spam tags, more moderation and different rules than BTT, In the short forum is about crypto and BTT is also about crypto but both are two different sites.

The only reason why you know that many members of bitcointalk are in this forum is because altcoinstalks allow members from bitcointalk to teleport accounts, and when they do, they share the same usernames in both forums. I can tell you that many bitcointalk members are also on other forums, but you would not know because their usernames there are different.

Btw, what made you ask if this was a mirror forum of Bitcointalk..is it because of the same user names found on that forum can be seen here, or is it because of the forum platform (simple machines)... otherwise if the two are compared, this one has more functionality and has that graphical punch added to its UI
