So what is everybody using for their crypto assets?

In an ideal world, we all would be using hardware wallets, but I'd understand if you do not use them for one reason or another (as long as you're not being reckless).

Also what operating system do you use for looking at / using crypto related stuff in general. Would be interesting to see if there is a derivation from the usual "80% Windows - 17% Mac, 3% Linux" sort of proportions that tell the market shares for normal users.

I chose only Windows.  We should be able to select more than one operating system on the poll. I would have gone for both Windows and Android.

I have some coins on phone. I prefer to use open source wallet. So I did not see a good opened source wallet for Windows which support altcoins. I use Unstoppable wallet for altcoins which is a mobile wallet. For bitcoin I prefer Electrum and Sparrow on desktops but I also use Bluewallet for Android.

I use a mix of Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS for my crypto activities. Windows is for crypto forums, Linux for managing crypto wallet apps on my PC, Android for market news, and iOS for using CEXs. If forced to choose only one, I'd pick iOS as it's where I place most of my trades.

I can't afford a hardware wallet yet. It could be part of my setup in the future if I can make significant profits in this bullrun, when 1 BTC = $150K-170K ^^

Still I am using my Android mobile phone for everything. But it is separate. I don't do much activities on that phone I use it only for transactions otherwise I didn't attached my social media accounts with that mobile.

Means you can say I use 100% Android for crypto activities. I use windows too but I rely on Android mostly. By the way I am thinking to shift it to my Windows but still didn't do it just thinking about it....

I think your analysis is right. I use Android and Windows, and I never have the intention to change these OS for another.

I can only afford android on this matter because my windows was damaged and dead after the super typhoon hit our place and it's pricey as well then hardware wallets are quite expensive for me so yeah I am happy using android as of the moment. 😁

Right now, I am using both Windows and Android...and so far they are serving me well. I understand that there can be some associated risks using them but I don't have a lot of crypto assets and I am just careful on what I do. For sure, there is no need on my part to buy and use hardware wallet though I know that they can be a lot safer compared to what I am using. There can be a time when most of the people in the crypto industry would be using a decentralized OS but it can take a lot of years before this can happen.

I use Windows and Android, Windows 10 on my laptop I use it to browse crypto forums and some other crypto related work, I used Electrum wallet in the past but unfortunately I don't use it anymore since it was hacked.

I also use Android mobile to use wallets and some CEXs because I think it is more secure than Windows.

I know Windows is the worst secure among all the other operating systems but unfortunately I have been used to it for a long time and I find it difficult to switch to another system.

Yeah, I too use Windows for my ventures and Android on my phone, don't remember exactly which one. I use Metamask and Trust wallets, mostly.
I hear many bad things about Windows, however, I haven't experienced anything bad or exploiting on it yet.

Also what operating system do you use for looking at / using crypto related stuff in general. Would be interesting to see if there is a derivation from the usual "80% Windows - 17% Mac, 3% Linux" sort of proportions that tell the market shares for normal users.

It's going to be more like 95% Windows and Android and the rest being shared by iOS and maybe some Linux.
If you think of 17% for Mac you're forgetting the demographic part, most countries that are highly represented here have an under or around 10% share of iOS and 90% Android, macOS not even that!

My work for the past many years was dependent on Windows, so I was kind of stuck on it. I've been planning to switch to Linux or iOS for some time, but since I don't change devices often anymore, I've become too lazy to make an OS switch.
What has always held me back when switching to Linux is that it is not uncommon for an application to only have a Win version, which would require that I have a spare Win in addition to Lin... This is already an unwanted complication for me.

For crypto, of course exclusively hardware wallet, only some minor amounts are on some applications, mostly for test purposes.

Speaking of the OS topic, which distribution is currently the friendliest?
Mainly for browser things, possibly if it is necessary to add some software so that I don't have to compile anything, I simply have no interest in such an approach.

A hardware wallet is always the best wallet for an ideal long time holding. Especially when you want to have fun with big funds secured and risk free. But since i use mobile most of the time, I do all kinds of activities including small and big capital transactions in crypto through mobile. But for me both laptop and mobile are fun but i find mobile as more helpful content to work on crypto. But if you don't have much money then there is no need to use hardware wallet. In fact most of the crypto users today are mobile ussr.
