and another part of the population does not want to know.

People like Warren Buffett? :D

Despite all of his wisdom in the investment and finance of all these years he still consider Bitcoin as short term bubble and the irony it Bitcoin is just the best example of his own philosophy when it comes to investing which is holding the assets for long term and letting the value appreciate.

But in reality Bitcoin has purpose beyond just another speculative asset, it's the new way of evolving into the trustles based currency and get rid of the government printed papers.

Hahahaa you caught me! But the fact that Buffet has been successful in business and traditional investments does not mean that he is a visionary, it means that he has been patient, since as you know not all of his investments have been profitable and he has also lost money. Things very similar to what Buffet said were also said by a certain individual who was "found" buying Bitcoin on Poloniex many years ago. One thing is what they say and another thing is what they do.

Yes, there is a great similarity between Bitcoin and democracy, especially in terms of decentralization, and of course there are many other similarities.

But what I would like to add here is that Bitcoin expresses true democracy because it is completely decentralized and no one can control Bitcoin or the network and everything is done by consensus or majority, while in reality we find governments that claim to be the most democratic in the world, led by the United States, how they control and dominate directly or indirectly through banks and by imposing regulatory restrictions and KYC, AML regulations.
We know that bitcoin is one of the best valuable and profitable crypto in crypto market. Because it’s price is very high than others crypto. So bitcoin is the best popular currency in cryptocurrency world. I also think that gradually bitcoin achieve more popularity in cryptocurrency market. We know that bitcoin express democracy in cryptocurrency market, because for completely decentralized. So i am also similar to your comment, because i believe that bitcoin is more democracy in cryptocurrency market.

But in reality Bitcoin has purpose beyond just another speculative asset, it's the new way of evolving into the trustles based currency and get rid of the government printed papers.

This is daydreaming!
Getting rid of fiat money will only happen when you stop referring to the Bitcoin value in $, but as we speak everyone is thrilled only by the numbers in dollars, everyone is counting its revenue from investments in $, as we speak more and more crypto owners tend to use stable coins pegged to fiat than crypto!

Yeah there's no denial in that but at least people know they have an alternative to the centralized money system and even if they are using bitcoin for storage of value or investment when there's time comes like recession or something there will be some shift towards the actual reason and yes this is a long journey to get rid of the paper money but bitcoin paved the way for it and now only people have to choose whether they are going to or not.

Fiat cannot be eliminated and will remain the main currency for payments. Bitcoin is only an optional currency that can be chosen or not.
and yes, everyone loves numbers in dollars because that's the final number they get from the Bitcoin investments they sell.

Now trading with USDT Pairs is more in demand than trading like BTC/ETH, BTC/SOL, etc.

Now, let's compare Bitcoin and democracy...what are the features that shine in both system?
One, in Bitcoin there is decentralization which can mean no one is really controlling anything just like what we are witnessing in the traditional financial system. In fact, I would say that Bitcoin is really more democratic than what we are enjoying right now in the banking and financial sector.

Saying that we are living in a democratic world is just a name to give the actual way of living we are experiencing. What we are living and experiencing is far more than what democracy should be all about. We are not enjoying that democracy but rather sometimes think we are just under a dictatorship form of government which is not appealing to what the real sense of democracy is. They should learn from what bitcoin entails the true meaning of democracy.

Quote
Two, Bitcoin is censor-free and no power can really stop and control it though government can command its people to not to get into it just like what we have seen in China. Here, we can be sure of real transparency and what you see is what you get.

Talking about the transparency features of bitcoin, the transparency here is very top notch and nothing can be compared to it as to what we are living now. The transparency features of it is another major factor that makes it stands out amongst all other cryptocurrencies that have come to been and not just comparing it to the traditional banking system of government.

I am not going to discuss here many other forms of governance but the well-applauded and what we are following and enjoying which is democracy...as any other forms of system can never be better.

Two, Bitcoin is censor-free and no power can really stop and control it though government can command its people to not to get into it just like what we have seen in China. Here, we can be sure of real transparency and what you see is what you get.

What any other democratic Bitcoin features?
Bitcoin possesses many features of democracy two you have already given which I agree with some more can be it democracy gives us freedom of speech and BTC blockchain also gives us freedom of speech we can now post anything on it and it won't be deleted and tampered with by other people. Which can be used to post porn and leak videos and images which can cause serious threats to people because they can't be deleted on it.

Other features can be democracy gives everyone an equal right to vote and in BTC everyone can join the mining regardless of the money they have like we need money in ETH to start mining. POW of BTC resembles with the democratic feature.

Re: Bitcoin is more of a democracy?
« Reply #23 on: October 18, 2024, 09:38:49 AM »

I am not going to discuss here many other forms of governance but the well-applauded and what we are following and enjoying which is democracy...as any other forms of system can never be better.

In fact, there are several indicators that may associate the Bitcoin with certain values prescribed by democracy, most notably, decentralization and personal liberty. Yet, one of the peculiarities of functioning within the specified network is the absence of third-party interference. This feature provides the users open platform and data ownership, thus it has disadvantages for it allows unethical and unlawful use of the platform. Thus, further evolution of the blockchain community and technologies associated with it should provide solutions for preserving such freedom, as well as preventing society from negative results that can be used when opposing it.

Pow in Bitcoin has the advantage of allowing anyone to mine for bitcoins regardless of large capital, although one needs enough resources such as ewallet, hardware and power among others. This can be connected with another democratic feature that has to do with integration, all stations have equal chances to join the network and help sustain its security. Nevertheless, while this system is designed to admitted anybody, one must also remember that while accessibility is a key factor, it does not necessarily mean that it is not impeded by technical and economical limitations which may result in inequality of participants.

Is bitcoin more of democracy? No. Why? Because democracy deals with system of government while bitcoin is not a system of government. Bitcoin is money and asset.

But you are not wrong that bitcoin is decentralized and censorship resistant and you can use noncustodial wallet for it to have complete control of your coins.
Nah i think what is meant is the method of democracy and not democracy as a system of government itself. You can see it fron the replies and others.
Well, personally i think relating to this,Bitcoin isn't fully more of a democracy and not fully decentralised,i think in it's own way it pertains both systems(democracy wnd decentralisation).

I agree, FIAT will always be there because the government will keep their FIAT for payments that are officially recognized by the state. that's why some countries still can't accept bitcoin as a means of payment.
I also prefer to use USDT as an exchange for my crypto coins, because the calculation is easier. but for trading I use some coins that we can take advantage of, not necessarily with USD

I don't think even at the end of evolution there would be such features for the network which will allow the deletion of data from BTC blockchain because that will if used unethically and unlawfully can cause more damage then the 18+ content. The data of transactions can also be removed causing great damage but that's not possible

BTC blockchain gives us the freedom of speech like any other social media or messaging application governments can force anyone here to delete data inscribed on BTC blockchain in the form of images and GIFs if that's possible?

Pow in Bitcoin has the advantage of allowing anyone to mine for bitcoins regardless of large capital, although one needs enough resources such as ewallet, hardware and power among others.
We also need these resources when we are mining via POS but we need additional funds there which we don't need here.

Yes, however, FIAT is the main payment right now and I wouldn't even force Bitcoin to be used as payment because regulations don't allow it.

After all, there is no need to be forced to use bitcoin as payment, now Bitcoin is still a speculative asset and is only used for commodity trading, nothing more than that and my country is indeed very strict on the use of crypto.

The use of digital Fiat is now also faster and even without cash, it has now penetrated into better and faster digital transactions.

I think the government still intensifies efforts to regulate bitcoin as it deems fit, what we have to map efforts towards ensuring the freedom of transactions as provided for by blockchain technology is maintained. We can do a few things to make use of the continuing growth of technology in the blockchain space, for instance, fully decentralized programming language and improved privacy protections. They can also focus on decentralized non-custodial wallets and P2P platforms where a single representative of governance isn’t required to ensure free access to backed-up crypto assets. Also, improved understanding of the legal requirements that govern the identified countries will allow us to operate in legal ways that do not leave us full control of our crypto assets, but also comply with the law. So by amalgamation of good education and innovative technology we can have security as well as financial freedom in this dynamic crypto world.
