Idk where to put this thread since there's no wallet for electrum section and technical discussion under Bitcoin Forum board so i guess this board is just fine.

 * General:
   - new: add new historical exchange rate providers: Bitfinex and Bitstamp
   - fix: wizard regression: 2fa wallet setup erroring (#9253)
   - fix: python 3.13 compat: could not connect to some self-signed electrum
     servers with weird TLS certs. As workaround, set pre-3.13 behaviour (#9258)
 * Lightning:
   - fix: send update_fee right away after channel_reestablish (3a465593)
     This fixes a race that can result in a force-closure if we try sending
     a payment very soon after reestablishing the channel.
 * Qt Desktop GUI:
   - fix: show fee warnings also in the transaction dialog (c4fe2796)

Note: Only download Electrum from verified sources and always verify your downloads to avoid to get the fake one.

Thank you for sharing this update about the new version of Electrum wallet. It is very important to get the latest version to get the new features and fix the existing problems. But as you mentioned should download it from the official website only.

Actually Electrum wallet is one of the most important and oldest and most popular Bitcoin wallets so I wish there was a section dedicated to Electrum in the Bitcoin section to discuss updates, problems and FAQ about Electrum.

But maybe the admin doesn't want to add a new section since the forum already has many sections.

Indeed, The most effective way is to download the newer version of the application from the official way to enjoy the newer features and bugs fixes specially when the said application is connected with the things that we have. Electrum Wallet is one of the first and the most popular wallets in the Bitcoin ecological system, so it needs a separate section for active updates and debate. However, we also realize that many sections in the forum may discourage the admin from adding another section.

Considering the release notes, there is no reason to upgrade since historical exchange rate is not a core function of the wallet or a priority and the rest of the updates are minor fixes. Personally, I have not updated the wallet for the last 4 months and perhaps if there is an update with new features or fixes for security vulnerabilities, then the update will be mandatory.

For long term, IMO creating new thread which discuss Electrum on board Crypto Wallets is better option.

Not only on Electrum it should be on all downloadable wallets, you should download it on the source not even on platforms that you trusted that posted update about Electrum wallet.
You should bookmark the electrum platform and check the url of the platform to be 100% sure that you are on the right platform, hacking and phishing is very prevalent here in Cryptocurrency.

Thank you very much for sharing this useful post in this time. Because i don’t know about this electrum 4,5,7. So i also believe that it will be most helpful for me and all of our altcoin users. If we follow in cryptocurrency market we can see that hacking and phishing are available in cryptocurrency market. But we cannot understand, which will be more prevent for us. But i believe that when we saw the more prevent system in cryptocurrency market, we should follow in this electrum system. Because i think that it will be best security for us.

Huh there is no such section already? I mean, we do have a section named crypto wallet where I think we can talk about it, but just like on BTT, a dedicated wallet sub-section for Electrum and for other wallets will be a good idea.

Maybe he is busy with so many other things and TBH creating a section just to share the updates of Electrum wallet seems unfair for him too so I think posting it here or in the crypto wallet section is enough so the regular folks will know the news.

I try to consider the crypto wallet but i think its only for crypto wallets — for altcoins wallets and not for only-bitcoin wallet but yeah, it could be the only "wallet" section available here.

Yes I agree with ABCbits suggestion. We need a thread for software wallets too especially for one like ELECTRUM and for obvious reasons it should be pinned just like the one created for open source hardware wallets is. anyways with that being said, I make use of ELECTRUM on both desktop and mobile. However I can't really tell why there are many features missing on the mobile version.

And one of them I'll like to point out is the aspect of adjusting fees I know the slider is quite nice but there is nothing like the good old desktop format wherei can manually input my fee rate. Sometimes the feeling rate I have in mind doesn't appear on the slider. How do you guys go about this on Electrum mobile version.

I don't think that's possible as of now. I remember reading a thread asking about the same thing on another forum when the 4.4.0 was released, and there's no new update judging from comments I read on a recent discussion about the Electrum mobile app. If you want to manually input the number, maybe use the desktop app or look for alternatives if you exclusively use phone to make transactions. CMIIW.

you can adjust how the fees are calculated as the mempool customization allows you to send very low fees, true you cannot manually input fee rate but you still pay reasonable fees. Bluewallet is an alternative option and accepts the same electrum seeds.
