When ALTS are struggling while Bitcoin is shining

I am sure that many people who also invested some good portion of their eggs in ALTCOINS are now wondering why with Bitcoin seemingly getting stronger everyday and may even make a new ATH in days to come (am hoping this can be true) many alts are not responding well to the pull up.

Now, the answer can be that "Bitcoin dominance is on the rise, altcoins struggle to gain momentum. As long as Bitcoin remains the central focus, the likelihood of altcoins delivering significant returns remains low." Of course, we are sure that alts time is coming though it is not yet there, for now.

Do you agree with this assessment or do you have your own explanation for this dilemma?

I am also agree with your comment. Because we can see that bitcoin price is increase gradually in cryptocurrency market. We also believe that after in few years bitcoin price will hit on $100k. Then we must be saw altcoin price is increase automatic. Because we know that bitcoin is one the best valuable crypto in cryptocurrency world. It also the king of cryptocurrency world. So when bitcoin price will be high then all crypto currency level will be high of this time.

There is a difference between an altcoin index achieving greater dominance than Bitcoin because it affects the lack of risk in the cryptocurrency market and the lack of profit for altcoin compared to Bitcoin, and an altcoin/bitcoin pair rising, which may happen without affecting Bitcoin's dominance.


In general, since the risks are high, everyone will prefer to invest in Bitcoin, especially since there is no strong competition from altcoin, so the Bitcoin dominance index will remain high.

Let us hope so, just like EOS was very disappointing in 2020/2021 when other coins were increasing in value, It did not increase. But it later increased to $14 before falling so significantly.

But things are changing. Altcoins are becoming more many and this can change what that happened in the past not to be happening again.

Some altcoins are rising but I noticed the old ones are the ones that are not rising.

Yea, there are a lot of altcoins and token in the market. Not all of them have good potentials and also not all of them are actually bad. The thing is to find those having good investors and enough liquidity in the market. Bitcoin will always be the top cryptocurrency in the market and even when it dips, you see a lot of investors rushing in to buy more. Unlike when we see dips in altcoins, investors no longer wants to having much interest in the coins.

I am not going to agree with this point. Its true it happen like in the past. We all know that crypto market is highly volatile and risky. We have that experienced on the past that after strong uptrend by btc, Altcoin start to move positively and btc look like on stable seat. Its actually happen as i have noticed. It could be happen as what you said. Crypto market is always uncertain place anything can be happen and we need to accept it.

Every network or crypto currency is responsible for their progress in both price and adoption as well as their drops or dips. Infact the idea that bitcoin is the OG of the crypto space actually suggests that bitcoin has some kind of indirect effect in a positive way on other altcoins.

As at yesterday when multiple discussions were raised about bitcoin's pump in price and the speed in it's momentum, I actually saw a couple of other altcoins (top altcoins ) on coin mark cap also on a bullish trend others that seemed to have dropped it the last 24hrs was even a low percentage.

the bullish trend on altcoins are not making the price go up significantly. and altcoins doesn't get more attention and only the BTC market is seen as profitable. but  don't you think the reason for the pump is just the ETF market?

and retail investors are yet not feeling the FOMO?

the only altcoins i saw going up are Doge , MKR and Chainlink.  but an influencer said the price may just shoot by next month.

Yes, I think I agree with your assessment, and it's true that alt coins aren't performing similarly well as Bitcoin and that's why the alt season hasn't yet started. I believe there's chance of alt season starting when Bitcoin crosses $80k value but before that I don't think that alts will gain much value.

Agreed... the momentum for altcoins to gain significant price increases is when BTC dominance begins to decline but cryptocurrency prices do not experience correction... I also realize that many people complain about this, where altcoins still have no price movements even though Bitcoin has reached 73k...

Let's wait for some time, when BTCDOM declines we will see altcoins shine brighter and crazier.

Not really paying attention to the current altcoin prices except for the altcoins that I hold and that's been around for quite a while, it can be said that I'm quite disappointed because the movement is not comparable to the movement of the Bitcoin price, but if I'm not mistaken it's quite difficult for altcoins to move in a good direction according to Bitcoin's movement except for altcoins that are already quite stable but if the good altcoins haven't shown any signs, maybe next year there will be an encouraging movement but don't expect much like 2017 because in 2021 altcoins have shown movements that are not always in line with Bitcoin, maybe because more people are focusing on Bitcoin and altcoin holders have already taken profits and stored them in the form of Bitcoin.

I agree with your analysis, yes in general the main reason for not starting the Altcoin bull season is because of the high dominance of Bitcoin which is currently around 60%, this means that most of the liquidity in the market goes to Bitcoin.

Usually as in previous seasons, the rise of Altcoin starts after the peak of Bitcoin, as when Bitcoin ATH is achieved, many holders start selling their Bitcoin due to achieving their goals, then Bitcoin dominance start declining and the Altcoin season starts.

Although some Altcoin may start their bull individually before that time.

In general, Bitcoin affects the altcoin markets. The rise of Bitcoin means that there is a good possibility that all altcoins will rise and vice versa, so there is an effect. But this effect does not mean that all altcoins will perform the same. On the contrary, some tokens have poor performance compared to Bitcoin.
