When ALTS are struggling while Bitcoin is shining

Sometimes what we expect does not match reality, I myself predicted that the price of Altcoin would rise. But it turned out to be wrong, Bitcoin was able to reach a new ATH. And this movement has not been followed by Altcoin, even Ethereum only experienced a minor increase. But I believe that in the next two months Altcoin will go to the Moon, while Bitcoin could go down.

I am sure that many people who also invested some good portion of their eggs in ALTCOINS are now wondering why with Bitcoin seemingly getting stronger everyday and may even make a new ATH in days to come (am hoping this can be true) many alts are not responding well to the pull up.

Now, the answer can be that "Bitcoin dominance is on the rise, altcoins struggle to gain momentum. As long as Bitcoin remains the central focus, the likelihood of altcoins delivering significant returns remains low." Of course, we are sure that alts time is coming though it is not yet there, for now.

Do you agree with this assessment or do you have your own explanation for this dilemma?

The current situation is commonly known as Dominance, Bitcoin is the most traded coin, and being the first crypto on the market, it drives the entire crypto prices. Altcoins are currently struggling because Bitcoin dominance rate is over 55%, it should have to come lower for altcoins to move up,

As a matter of facts, when dominance is increasing there is every tendency for altcoins to bleed heavily, and this situation has been a strong reason why altcoins season will continue to linger. I still think that Bitcoin may continue to shine over altcoins untill dominance drop below 50% rate.

Hopefully because I know most of us has Altcoin holdings from different networks but I only have from Solana which was struggling since Bitcoin was down and even with Bitcoins slight movement upwards my Altcoins are still in red.

Hopefully with the recent uptrend on Bitcoin, other strong altcoins will follow as well. And most of them are really in the green for now, but it doesn't mean that it's going to be a bull run for them.

So yeah, they are still struggling as maybe all the money is on the Bitcoin market, nevertheless, I still believed that sooner or later, some of the best altcoins that we are holding will somewhat be on the rise again specially next year as we could anticipated a bull run on the altcoin market. Patience is the key, and we should be keeping our altcoins for now, just be a hodler.

Yes that's quite true , bitcoin definitely has an indirect effect on the whole crypto currency market, however that doesn't necessarily mean that the regular dips or pumps altcoins or other tokens in the crypto space is solely as a result of bitcoin's movement in either a bear or a pump direction. That's because if you take a pump dump meme coin for example, irrespective of if bitcoin is in a bull trend or not, when the whales decide dump it it will definitely dump.

However that's not to say that coins like Ethereum  bitcoin cash and lite don't usually pump a little when bitcoin is on a bullish trend.

Meme coins will rise or fall due to hype, this is not affected by the increase or decrease in the price of bitcoin directly. But other coins will be affected by the movement of the price of bitcoin, because bitcoin is the king of crypto currency, of course a king will be followed by his people.

It's long been illustrated that there's a flow of money in crypto from BTC to alts (from large caps to low caps). It doesn't happen all the time and there are always outliers like meme tokens but I think it's still true for most. It's like more investors prefer to get their BTC first and then gamble on alts.

Yes, that's the fact, Bitcoin can increase very rapidly in a very short time, and Bitcoin's dominance over altcoins has never subsided. And apart from Bitcoin's dominance which is indeed increasing, there is 1 more thing that makes this happen.

Sometimes, our expectations of market movements can be wrong, especially with the assumption that Altcoins will surge along with Bitcoin. In fact, Bitcoin has reached its highest point while Altcoins, including Ethereum, have remained slow.

Although there is hope that Altcoins will rise in the near future, we still need to be prepared if the market movement does not go as expected. Relying on speculative patterns without a strong basis can leave us disappointed, especially with high volatility like this.

don't worry buddy, everything needs a process to reach the moon and altcoin little by little step to the moon. for now we see an increase in bitcoin because if bitcoin goes up then other coins will also go up and vice versa, it's just that altcoin can't fully experience an increase by itself without bitcoin ... but don't worry if altcoin has good development and technology for the future it is not impossible that altcoin will go to the moon but it is very possible that altcoin will go to the moon.

That could be the reason at this scenario, but every year there's a different scenario. I remember altcoins are doing well while Bitcoin is not and Bitcoin's dominance is decreasing, but since we are in the present, I like the situation that Bitcoin is moving up and altcoins will follow eventually. if altcoins' projects are true and genuine, it will eventually have its own bull run. Everything is all about use cases; without this, we cannot expect a bull run on altcoins.

There is a difference between an altcoin index achieving greater dominance than Bitcoin because it affects the lack of risk in the cryptocurrency market and the lack of profit for altcoin compared to Bitcoin, and an altcoin/bitcoin pair rising, which may happen without affecting Bitcoin's dominance.


In general, since the risks are high, everyone will prefer to invest in Bitcoin, especially since there is no strong competition from altcoin, so the Bitcoin dominance index will remain high.

Your economic explanation on Bitcoin dominance and altcoins index is not clear to me, however Bitcoin will aim to maintained this dominance situation for a long time because BTC demands is always very high and it's supply is very limited. Many investors are holding their Bitcoin for the long term and this has helped to reduces Bitcoin supply into the market and created more scarcity and higher price.
Altcoins are bound to struggle because they are too many on the market and on different blockchains. As a matter of facts, many altcoins may not survive dominance especially if Btc continues it's uptrends movements or even downward trends.

It's only bitcoin that has the potential to rise while some altcoins can benefit from bitcoin price movement and not all. The demand for bitcoin and tge trust on bitcoin gives it more value than those altcoins that are for gambling. When the bull run is over, many altcoins will not survive the bear market.

What I feel is that when the price of Bitcoin rise up, the price of altcoins don't start the bull session. But altcoins bull run starts when Bitcoin is stable after getting the highest ATH. Although there is no exact timing, the high value of Bitcoin usually plays the biggest role in the rise in the price of altcoins. If the Bitcoin market goes down, the altcoins will be in a dire situation. In terms of investment, if you can invest in good altcoins at the current stage, then the profit will increase. The current altcoin market is prepare for the bull run. But it should be remember that not all altcoins will be bullish.
