Can politicians be Trusted with their promises ?
« on: November 02, 2024, 05:48:27 PM »
It sounds like former US president, mr Donald Trump is certain about his bold promises about his cryptocurrency support. Through out his campaign rally, and many of his  speeches, he had assured the crypto community about his commitment to the developments especially making the US the center of crypto mining hub of the world, and that every American citizen has the right to self custody of their digital assets etc.
However, I think that politicians all over the world will always use fare speeches to lure voters.
But do you think Donald Trump will follow his bold promises? It is easier said than done!

Only what people can hope for is if he is elected that he should fulfill the promises. But whether he is going to fulfill his promises or not, we do not know. We are not capable to see the future. So nobody knows if he is going to fulfill his promises.

But this is not only about his promises, many people believe already that if Donald Trump becomes the next United States president, that the price of bitcoin will increase.

its not gonna be hard for Trump to established that Bitcoin strategic reserve if he got the lawmakers wanting to solve that $35T debt. who wouldn't want that to happen while dissolving debts from China?

i think its going to this direction even if Trump doesn't win. especially because USD is threatened by the multicurrency financial system by BRICS and if they couldn't settle to this new financial system off BRICS then they will all be choosing crypto.

Propaganda is a strategy in politics to win the heart of the people to cast votes in favor of the candidate.
I see it as a pattern of Former US President Donald Trump to win much votes from the Crypto angle in this US election, seeing that his fellow contestant Kamala Harris is a non-crypto supporter.
I'm pretty sure that he would put in place most of his Crypto promises maybe not all. As of the mining aspect he may likely put it in place as the article says that it could be a way out of the $35Trillion National Debt.
But on the other hand, this will boost his vote counts because US citizens who are into Crypto will cast their votes in his favor.

However, I think that politicians all over the world will always use fare speeches to lure voters.
But do you think Donald Trump will follow his bold promises? It is easier said than done!

You know when a true blooded politician says stuff that's out of this world or out of his character, believing on what Trump says is like a gamble, we never know if he's true to what he is promising or he will eventually backtrack, but Trump is offering something we can hope for, the alternative is not good as Kamala will just carry Biden's policy of being strict on Cryptocurrency.
So why not take a chance on Trump? if he fulfills his promise, that will be good for the cryptocommunity.

I have always been skeptical of Trump's promises, but I don't know, this time he seems to be honest in his words, although all these statements fall under the category of election propaganda, but let's hope that he fulfills all his promises.

Trump is an economist first and foremost, and I think he recently learned about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and found out their great positive impact on the economy, so perhaps this is the point that might make him fulfill his promises. As for decentralization and privacy, Trump will definitely be against cryptocurrencies.

What debt to China?
China owns only $749.0 billion in US bonds, which is peanuts, people really need to understand that that massive debt is a debt to themselves, 7 trillion of it so 10 times more than what China holds is simply intergovernmental debt, so to make it easier one state owns money to the fed and one city owns money to the state.
That's why nobody really cares about that debt other than tinfoil hatters and conspiracy lovers!

Trump's intentions are still very unclear. Even if he tries to keep to his campaign promises, several factors will force him to compromise once he is elected into office. All the opinions we have right now about his intentions are just assumptions. Trump has told us what we love to hear compared to his opponent, there is nothing we can do right now aside hoping for the best outcome after the elections.

As for crypto, we really don't know, maybe he is just riding on the popularity of it and uses it to his advantage. Remember that during his first term, I would say that he didn't do anything on the advantage of Bitcoin itself in the US. But now it's totally different as it is one of his agenda. So for now, if you are really a crypto enthusiast, you might be banking on what Trump is telling us, that he will be pro-Bitcoin and will make it prosper in the US. But we will see, we can only connect the dots after he got re-elected.

In Africa and most part of the world, politicians are full with promises during campaigns and not fulfilling them at all when they eventually get elected into office, so for that, we should not celebrate any campaign promises and also not rate politicians based on they campaign promises, because there is far difference between campaign and governance in most cases.

Of course this happens in all countries of the world, politicians make a lot of promises in their election campaigns but forget everything once they are elected.

There is only one case where they can fulfill their promises if it suits their political and economic interests, so in the case of Trump and Bitcoin, Trump may have begun to realize the importance of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in the economy, so I think he will fulfill his promises in this regard.

However, I think that politicians all over the world will always use fare speeches to lure voters.
of course it is really hard to believe trump is genuinely in support of crypto when just a few years ago he was against it quite outwardly so you can't blame someone who is a bit skeptical of trump who only started getting into crypto in time for the election we know that politicians will target certain population and now crypto enthusiasts are part of the targeted population

But do you think Donald Trump will follow his bold promises? It is easier said than done!
whether or not he is genuine, we won't know until he actually wins (if he wins) and does as he say

History suggests that they cannot be trusted, but the same history has proven that Trump does well with crypto. I don't know if this helps.

In Africa and most part of the world, politicians are full with promises during campaigns and not fulfilling them at all when they eventually get elected into office, so for that, we should not celebrate any campaign promises and also not rate politicians based on they campaign promises, because there is far difference between campaign and governance in most cases.
There are differences between promises during campaign and governance. I have seen many politicians that fulfill their promises but they have bad governance. Bad governance and incompetent leadership is common in Africa. That is the reason the economy as not been good. I wish the promises should include that the country will have good economy, but which they may not fulfill because they are out of clue in achieving good economy.

About Trump promises, I do not think it should be hard to achieve. But let us see what will happen. If other arms of the government like the legislative arm can support him, it is very possible he is going to fulfill his promises. Removing people like the present SEC governor will easily be fulfilled. Bit about bitcoin as a strategic reserve, it can also easily be fulfilled if no obstacle.

Remember that during his first term, I would say that he didn't do anything on the advantage of Bitcoin itself in the US.

Quite the opposite, he did only bad things for Bitcoin!
He was the one who put taxes on gains from crypto, and he was also the one who imposed additional taxes for imported mining gear, so not only he didn't do anything good for crypto he actually stalled adoption and hurt mining.
If someone believes he will change after he gets his votes I can sell you a few bridges!
