Is There Any Draft System?

I was writing a post and I have written it properly but suddenly with a mistake my page refreshed. And all data gone.

I have good experience with Bitcointalk. When I click the preview button it got save in draft. So I can find it easily.

So question is... Is there any setting which I didn't on? Or is there no draft button?

If there is no draft button so I think it should be introduced because if I am facing this problem so I am sure many users are also facing.

When my account was teleported on this forum, I noticed that there is no notification on this forum except one board or so. I posted about it but nothing was done.

I do not think admin will do anything about this.

I will advice you to use a browser that will not refresh by moving your finger on the screen down. Many mobile browsed are like that. You will be at the top part of the page and the page will refresh if you want to scroll more up but which is not possible because you are already at the up part but instead refresh the page for you. Not all mobile browser do that. Although, not that it is a perfect solution but it will reduce the chance such will happen.

If an advance software is used, even if you close the browser, what you posted last will automatically generate itself as if you did not close the browser at all.

Well unfortunately this forum doesn't have a button you can hit to save your posts to draft when you are writing. However in the past I used to have issues with me losing all what I typed just by mistakenly refreshing a page or performing the exit gesture when I'm surfing on mobile. To prevent this what I do most of the time is copy the text I've typed so far anytime I have a new paragraph. That way I can easily paste once again even if I close the tab unknowningly.

Also I suggest you get a nice note pad that auto saves as you type. This will be more effective when you are making a lengthy post, all you would have to do when done is copy and paste here to post once again.

This has happened to me many times and if I complain nothing or no action will be taking so it is better I became silent to follow up the trend. This are some of the things need to be done in the forum.

Frankly speaking it is very painful when you have typed good number of lines and suddenly it disappears. And everything you have type wipeout. Something needs to be done.

This forum uses the Simple Machines Forum software and so as a consequence, it does indeed have the draft feature, but it is disabled by the administrator of this forum.

The best thing to do is just save your drafts in a notepad file if you don't want them to be lost when you accidentally refresh a page. Fortunately most people are not composing long, elaborate posts on here too often.

On the SMF script, the "preview" button should have a draft-saving function. At least that's how it is on Btt, there's no reason why it shouldn't be here as well (I didn't try it)

Newer versions of smf just like this forum have save draft MOD so either admin disabled it or not added yet on this forum. It will be much better if there is  something like that knowing there's no undo button on the text editor.

I have seem an SMF mod to add draft feature. Admin can just install and activate it.

If the Draft feature is suggested, the admin could add it to make the forum more user-friendly, of course after the admin finishes more important tasks for AltcoinsTalks.

I usually have a habit of drafting content in a txt file at a faster speed and with a larger font size. Poor internet quality can be annoying when typing directly on the forum, and sometimes the content also disappears when the website is reloaded. This is easily solved with an offline tool - txt or docx, and then I can simply copy/paste my content onto the forum ^^

There is no draft button here and even after we preview our posts, they don't go into the draft section because AFAIK there is no such thing here. I also saw the same problem many times,, mostly when I am on my smartphone and making a post and suddenly I hit back button, which most of the time bring me content back as I redo it and on Desktop Chrome I also use the redo button but this doesn't work all the time.

And when I mistakenly refresh the page I really hate it, especially on a smartphone. I hope they integrate the draft system soon as that's the most needed thing right now.

I have accidentally closed the tab a couple of times, and rewriting everything from scratch can be a hassle. Yes, the short ones are fine, but the long ones are really a pain. I have posted a couple of translations here since I'm a translator, and I had to modify the post. And every time a accident happened, I felt the pain! I'm not sure whether the back button works like it does on BTT or the browser cache do the trick! I guess, i'll have to test it.

p.s: I'm using an online notepad to make the drafts and then posting it here.

So far I also use notepad to type and post on this forum, even if my internet is having problems or my computer suddenly dies, it will not be a big obstacle, because with notepad++ it will be saved automatically and can be opened again even if we don't press Ctrl + S.

I have been implementing this habit since I had quite a problem when typing a long post, but suddenly the internet went down... that made me have to rewrite the post... this really drains my energy and time if the post I wrote is quite long.

That's a good alternative, although I don't think NotePad++ is designed for this purpose to begin with. But yeah, autosave can be a lifesaver if you're writing a long post. I had a blackout yesterday and I've yet to post my comments, which makes me lazy to rewrite it and just move one.

I'm not sure whether the back button works like it does on BTT or the browser cache do the trick! I guess, i'll have to test it.

I'm using a Mac with Chrome browser and so far refreshing a page whenever an error happens seems to show our unpublished post. I won't rely on this for long/translation posts though.

It doesn't have a time limit either. It doesn't matter if I open the site after a week or a month, as long as the browser cache is intact, I am able to get back to where I previously left off!

No matter what tool you choose, as long as you are comfortable with its auto-save feature, it will prevent your posts from being deleted when there is a problem with your PC or you make a wrong click...

For me, the most important thing is an application that is light and does not require a lot of resources, so that it does not interfere with the performance of the main application that I am focusing on. Thank you for giving me a new perspective on online notepad, maybe it can be my solution when my notepad++ crashes or has other problems.
