How Casinos Use Psychology to Influence Gamblers

I've been fascinated on how casinos really attracted gamblers on the games that they have that people come back for more even if they lose money. I'm talking about land base casinos here as it is really very attractive and the atmosphere are different.

So from what I observed, there are some that I think that might add to it's aura that's why we do play on them.

1. Incentives and Rewards - majority of casinos have this membership card, and so when you play and you used it, you will accumulate points and you can used this points like to get free merchandise from them. I even have been given free hotel accommodation.

2. Design of casinos - it was really brilliantly crafted by the design itself, very big, no clocks inside, and then the color could have played as well, like gold and red which they say is the lucky color or color of money.

3. Free drinks/alcohol and then there are live band - So they gave you free drinks and alcohol, but perhaps you make you drunk and so your judgement is clouded and potentially you losing big money. And then there are entertainment, such as live bands performing every hour to keep you inside and watch and have some fun while at the same time losing money.

Maybe you can add to it as what are you think we keep on coming back as if we are under the spell of this big casinos?

Anyway, yeah, casinos knew that people loves to be entertained and they sell their casino as a package deal. This is one of the reasons I get out as soon as I can or don't enter these establishments at all.

I do not really agree with this. There is more to gambling than this. There are many people that are gambling online using a device that has time but they noticed that they gamble often.

What makes some people gamble often is the fun they get from losing and winning. Something that involves money motivates humans.

lol maybe not everyone gets their own personal cheerleader in a dress but customers are still treated like royalty being acknowledged with respect makes us feel very valuable and... wealthy! even for one night which makes sense because we are quite literally spending our money on them workers in a casino will address you with titles and will give in to your every whim in a snap

i noticed that a lot of casinos are in hotels which allows guests to basically gamble all night since their room is just upstairs and i think the hotel earns from this too as their guests spend longer time in the hotel just to gamble

Lol, but I haven't seen any ladies wearing attractive dresses on land base casinos? Or they are, but I'm not really looking,  . It's obvious that there are no clocks because the casinos as business doesn't want you to know what time it is and just play with all your money?

I also remember when I have the chance to play on Vegas casinos, lots of drink as well and then the color of the dome of the casino is like clouds or something, to make you feel that it is still very early and you could spend your whole night losing your money, hehehe.

i only been in a real traditional casino a few times, play slot with my aunt as i'm like her chaperone. i felt important in there just sitting in the lounge while real estate agents are talking to me one by one like i'm a big shot. only to find out they are not really real estate agents, they are there to find out whether i have money in my  bank account.

this is a very contradicting statement

you say there’s no psychology behind gambling but then proceed to talk about why people gamble and it’s the belief of being able to win something but isn’t believing also psychological?? Lol having that kind of mindset is embedded in your brain which is intensified by psychological manipulation of casinos and/or the environment around you

well yes and even if you don’t believe that the casino may be playing tricks on you it does happen which is why it’s so effective: you don’t notice it or you don’t even believe it but it affects you in some way and it keeps you coming back for more

I do not think that they directly loan players, not for average joe though. It could be for those whales who are willing to lose millions a night for them. And with that, they have a credit line. But for us average joe gamblers, we can't.

Wait what? I was already asking myself why would casinos allow agents there in the first place but then comes the twist. Although we know casinos have all the tricks up their sleeves, I never thought they would resort to a strategy like that. How were you able to find out? If they presented themselves as such, then that's just another form of cheating.

Psychological tricks are employed by other businesses and not just the casino business to keep customers that they have managed to attract and turn them into returning customers.

These tricks are necessary considering the competition that these casinos face in trying to get and keep customers based on the competition from other casino's in the business.

A casino with a better psychological trick has a better chance of keeping customers.

Probably the one that differs the most from online casinos is the ability to socialize; therefore, people don't come only to play but also to come with friends, meet other people, watch others play, etc. Also, many casinos are interconnected with nice hotels, shows, escort services, and many more lol.

If about the game itself, I think the psychological thing is the same as online games, mainly about adrenaline rush and dopamine boost.
