Hi all guys, I made myself a widget that calculates the value of btc/usd in real time and puts it on the screen and also calculates the value of your btc automatically, for lazy people like me it's ideal for having I always monitor what happens:



obviously if you want more features don't hesitate to ask for them

Now I'll ask you for a feature right away, is it possible to make sure that it ends up in the traybar? that it then turns into an icon and when you hover over it with the mouse it tells you the price?
furthermore you can also add an input where you decide the refresh time, it would be good to avoid spamming call

I noticed that I used api.coindesk.com it's not the best and there are better APIs like blockchair.

you should translate into English if you don't want to do a localization
or if you want to try you could try to localize using localization files for the few sentences present

I've installed software which use Python previously, but i expect more people would need more detailed instruction (such as install Python 3 and then install PyQt5 using pip).

OP probably forget it, but technically it's not open source when there's no mention of which open source license he use. See https://choosealicense.com/no-permission/.

This is a really nice widget and it will come in handy especially this period where there is tension in the market and everyone is looking at charts and checking prices every now and then. Well these period I'm usually quite busy and not always on my pc very frequently till towards evening.  So I don't know if you can but a widget to add like an extension on the forum too will be of great help.

I'll definitely add this widget to my PC later today. And like babo mentioned , I think you should make it so hovering over it displays price too. +1 for the effort op looking forward to more interesting mods too.

The widget looks great, but it can look more user-friendly and good-looking UX-wise. If you have some skills in animation, then that's awesome to add a few and coloring, etc. A widget should stick on the screen and a refresh option or more pair option besides BTC/USD will also be a good thing. Well, it's just a basic project and efforts been made so +1 for you to keep the heat up.

Create more tools I am not an expert in here to say the code is clean so let's leave that part to experts, but idea is good.

yes it's a good job
personally I would prefer to have it in the tray bar, so that I can work all day without having any particular problems while I am concentrated
however there are many other ways to do things, for example it could be put on a small screen
Being Python it could work easily on a Raspberry Pi with an LCD screen

Pretty nice widget though I am not a pc user but I think language is important and it should support the universal which is english. Maybe you can also create one for mobile users that would be nice as well. This will be very useful to pc users.

yes you haven't updated the screenshot but the latest versions are in English
at least if you don't want to do all the languages ​​you have to do it in English, it's simpler but everyone can understand something
It's cute but if it does the tray bar thing it's great
