Altcoins season looks uncertain this year.

Of course long time investment is the best and you would have the profits covered because you are only focusing on the period which you have projected to pull out your investment, and most times it changes you see the market is making huge profits you may decide to extend how you projects for the investment just as bitcoin price has been on a fast rising and no one on his right senses would go pull out knowing too well that we are on bull market. Therefore they should hold till the bull run is over.

If I give a small overview of my Crypto investment portfolio, I have to say that the most profitable investment I have made so far is Bitcoin investment, although if you make a profit in Altcoin, the profit amount is even higher. However, along with this profit in altcoin, the chances of loss are also high.

Here is a short overview of my current investment-
The investment percentage of my total assets is on the left and the percentage of profit I am currently making on those coins is on the right.

For sure altcoin usually gives quick profits but the possibility of losing their profits is extremely volatile and when they drops it could be hard they gained back their percentages because you wouldn't know what they plans of the project owner if is to entirely abandoned the coin, especially when its newly listed coin/token in the market. Yes, bitcoin is more preferably to hold for long term and even though the profits must drop it should be within a limited range instead for long term and could easily bounce back to it's normal price again.

Reading your post reminded me of a post by a user on this forum or the Bitcoin Talk forum. There, the user mentioned that altcoins are created only to make their owners rich.
Because no altcoin started its journey with the same purpose as bitcoin. Where we look at bitcoin, it has no paid developers, it has no owners, it is completely decentralized.
As you can see I have already give a little overview of my investment portfolio as you can see my investment on Bitcoin is around 43% because I feel secure on Bitcoin and the others alternative coins yes I have also invested on there to having some moon bag if the market give me the opportunity.

It seems that the current altcoin movement has shown good development in the market and some have reached ATH, but there are still many people who say that altcoin season has not arrived and is predicted to happen next year.

On this moment the market looks quite active, there are a lot of possibilities for success, and of course, one will be able to observe a great number of shifts as time comes. There is still much that remains untapped but there are few expectations that the big players may be seen over the next couple of months. We have to stay close in choosing friends we make as well as education classes we attend in order to realise that each move we make in the future contributes to something. So if we have our planned course of action and correct analysis we can make most of the opportunity and can be ready for any eventuality that happens. Here, the main is moderation, it is important not to get carried away with something but at the same time being critical is not good either.

The bitcoin price is looking very bullish and there is higher possibility that dominance rate will increase. Since this year Bitcoin rate has been performing very well with no signs of it coming down anytime this year. As at the time of writing this post, dominance rate is standing around 59.80%. which is very high for altcoins to pump.
Having said that, I am of the opinion that despite the current Bitcoin up trends movements, there are still strong demands
for btc, with no much supply going into the market. Do you think altcoins season is still likely to happen this year?

Honestly speaking, the price of bitcoin so far has been really bullish, if you are going to check the market now, but I am pretty sure that it will go through a correction for sure again. You know the market price behavior when many people expect bitcoin's price hike to continue, it will also have a retracement in its price in the market.

These are the commonly happened in this industry, some may not notice it much and others may also notice it. But even so, they say if you don't want a headache, don't compete with experienced traders, just stay as a long-term holder.

Pricing fluctuations in the market is as natural as the rise and fall of the tides, each surge affords a chance for a manoeuvre. This is just my analysis because my portfolio has not reached my target, especially since this week bitcoin experienced a correction so that my portfolio dropped sharply.
Let's just wait after Trump's inauguration, what will happen to the crypto market. If it has a good impact, it is certain that altcoin season will come.
