Ethereum is one of the most profitable coin to invest in amongst many cryptocurrencies. It is a very good choice for long term investment when we are planning on investing on an altcoin. The demand for it is second to none after bitcoin and that makes it a good choice for investment for a very long term when choosing other coins to invest in. Some bitcoin lovers will still prefer to stick to bitcoin because of its decentralisation and sought like that makes it a better choice than Ethereum. But it’s a crypto asset that is good for investment also. It is better to hold it for a long term than to trade with it as trading inquires it to be more risky of a choice.

I know this is an old post and I am replying late too but.

It's not about ETH alone, because every coin can go down it's not for sure that when you will invest it have to go up. Every coin can go up can down, if you want to hold it then make sure you hold it for a longer period of time. For example in December, ETH hit $4k and many thought it won't be available again in $3.6k to 3.8k price range but it was available.

So the point is there are many who bought it at $4k and there are many who have bought it at $2.5k. I have seen it on the price of 2500 but did not bought it, now I am planning to buy it because IMO for the long run like for 3 months to 6 months it can hit 2x from the current price but it's NFA so DYOR.

Experience is always needed in investing in crypto, and that's what makes us able to gain profit and not panic when the market experiences correction.
We must have sufficient knowledge in addition to experience. because analysis is needed before deciding to buy coins.
People who have been investing in crypto for a long time certainly have a lot of experience, that's what makes them survive until now.

I don't really know how traders makes alot of profits in trading Ethereum, except they are doing it in a very large amount. Ethereum doesn't have this bullish momentum unlike the others that we've seen recently. So, I think if anyone wants to go into Ethereum trading, then it is best to have it in a large quantity or at least, a reasonable amount that can yield profits when trading.  And for those that chooses to hodl, they might also want to hodl a reasonable amount so as to get a better profit in the future.

Even at that, having Ethereum for large quantities for profits, An intelligent investor wouldn't like to go into Ethereum with big amounts whereas there is Bitcoin for one to invest in and expect huge profits more than the profits Ethereum will provide in the long run.

Ethereum is not a good coin to invest in with huge amounts and expected potential profits in the future. Instead of me, investing in Ethereum with more than $3k, I would instead diversify my $3k into other other potential altcoins.

What we have to prevent is the formation of habits in decision making that are intense and not well thought or having no specific objectives in mind. I can't agree more because without experience, a person can't survive in the jungle and this jungle is very risky, dangerous and volatile. So in order to survive here we have to gain experience or get someone expert to follow to survive.

But in terms of long term investments, we don't need experience because we can get that by reading the history of the coins we are going to invest in. For example when we will read the history of ETH we can easily understand how much potential it have to grow or what things we should keep in mind while making an analysis. Because most of them will repeat afterwards.

Investing in crypto for the long term does not require much experience but must have the knowledge to buy during the bearish season and hold it for a few years until the bullish season.

Short term attention is directed towards small adjustments that can be exploited because of their stochastic variation. However, long-term view calls for consistency with the initial aim and leave out temptations that cause deviation from that path. Bitcoin and Ethereum are not much different? I don't disagree with you that both are the most successful coin in cryptospace Bitcoin is the number one position and the second one is Ethereum.
But there are lots of different between  them like the etherium market cap is only 467.67 billion and on the others and Bitcoin market cap is 2.07 trillion that's mean Bitcoin market cap 4x+ time larger than the etherium market. And about the price Bitcoin is 26x+ more than Ethereum. Both are the best but not same.

Seeing the history of this Ethereum I have a personal opinion that this Ethereum is suitable for an investment long -term, just look at the whole chart from Ethereum slowly rising as well as Bitcoin. Seeing the transporization of the POW system changed to a still Ethereum post, this Ethereum is the best choice for the Cryptocurrency community.
Trading may be suitable for the short term because it is taken from a glimpse of up and down, buying Ethereum when the price goes down and sells it when Ethereum rises, but for the long term I will choose Hodler for Ethereum. This is just my personal opinion because the ecosystem of Ethereum is extraordinary.

The right choice if you choose ethereum for long-term hold because ethereum is also a favorite of big investors for long-term hold, although bitcoin is the main priority but I think ethereum also has the potential to be held.

if I look at ethereum right now it is different from bitcoin progress. because the price of ethereum is still far from ATH, while bitcoin has reached ATH several times.
I see that ethereum is still having difficulty following the movement of bitcoin prices.
This is just my observation this year, we'll see next year.

Ethereum is not better than meme coins. How can it be dumping faster than some coins that were listed some days ago and to say that it didn't follow Bitcoin to perform very well. Ethereum used to be the next coin that even XRP was competing against back then but look at it right now, it is struggling to pass its previous all time high.

If there is anything I'm ever going to do right now, I will put my money in Bitcoin if I'm to do a DCA  than put my money in Ethereum that will be stuck and dump later.
