And I also think that two things you meantion those mean two different things, so I don't think the comparison you mentioned with gambling's emotion control is right.

Yeah, you can call it gut feeling, or that something that you  want to scratch and so you play. But the best thing to do with it or at least to combat that feeling you got is just to step aside some budget on gambling and that's it.

If you lose the money, then just simply stop and don't think about recovering it. Maybe the next day, or just take a day off of  gambling, and then when you are ready and have the money again that is budget for your gambling, then continue. The key here is that it's the money that you can afford to lose.
