If there is no confidence in a game, I doubt any gambler will bet on it. Prior to each game, a gambler has the belief that the game is certain and thus he will win. Only after the game has begun does the gambler realize the importance of not being overly confident.
This is due to the fact that he does not win in the end, despite believing that the game is certain. This is the case for every gambler. Even if he loses today, he is confident that he will win on his next attempt. This confidence persists throughout the life of every gambler.
I’m afraid this isn’t that case for me, at least most of the time.
When I’m making my predictions, regardless of how confident I feel about the team I’m betting on, I still this strong opinion of how unpredictable gambling can be and this often helps to keep me in the appropriate spot, which is the position where all I can do is just make my predictions and also being conscious of the fact that regardless of how confident I am about my choices of games, my confidence would in no way influence the outcome of the game, at least this way I get to see realistic goals for myself and avoid being too expectant.
Plus, I bet on a team not because I’m confident they’d play according to my predictions, but because I believe they MAY LIKELY do so, so in the long run it’s all about probability, so if I lose the bet, I’m not surprised or shocked and if I win? I’d be like feeling proud of myself that I was able to accurately predict the outcome of those matches even without really being sure.
Being overly confident makes gamblers to set unrealistic expectations for themselves, which can also influence the amount they’ll choose to stake on the game.
