[Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Rukiya Anpo - December 30
« on: November 29, 2024, 11:34:37 PM »

https://www.fightmag.com/photos-ryan-garcia-aims-to-knock-out-rukiya-anpo-who-labels-him-fake-king/

Ryan Garcia will make his comeback, but it will be in an exhibition match against Rukiya Anpo. Anpo is known to have fought Manny Pacquiao last July of this year. And we all know that Ryan Garcia has a one year ban because of his supposedly taking Peds during his fight with Devin Haney.

So he jumps on the plan and go to Japan and have this fight at the end of this year.

Although there are reports that his boxing promoter, Golden Boy Promotions says that they didn't give the blessings of this fight as Ryan is under their contract.

Here is the official kick off presser of this fight:

Do you think this fight is going to push through despite GBP not signing off of this fight?

I hope it will, as it has the makings of a great fight. Both are great and reputable fighters in their respective field, and besides, Ryan always gets his way with Oscar because Ryan is Dela Hoya's top talent; he don't want to disappoint Ryan like he did in the past, I'll go for Ryan in this fight between the two; he is the hard puncher and possesses a good skill in the ring in a boxing match

Same here I'll go for Ryan Garcia if this match will go through because I've seen each of their fights and I am impressed with Ryan's style compared to Anpo. Ryan for me can beat Anpo just like what Pacquiao did during their exhibition match last July this year.

Although I respect the hustle and understand why he needs to stay active and earn at the same time, I still think Ryan is only putting himself into more trouble after signing a contract without the management's approval. He'll be lucky if Golden Boy let go of this but will probably take away 70%-80% of the fight purse ;D

We haven't heard any update on GBP yet, the last word is that they are going to sue Ryan (again!) if they proceed with this fight, so we will have to wait. It's easy for Ryan to just make a call with Oscar and he should do it.

Nevertheless, if terms of money, this is still a worthy PPV buys as Ryan is a cashcow and that the Japanese knows that. And so they set up a great fight for their fans before the end of the year which is a tradition for them. Ever end of the year their is a great boxer fight.

Haha, 70%-80% is too much, i think Golden Boy Promotion could take at least 20% of the money that Ryan Garcia would earn. Even though Golden Boy wasn't aware of this promotion but still they wouldn't mind as long as Ryan will still be in their wings, Ryan is their cash cow now.

That would be too much for Oscar. Ryan been sanctioned and wasn't allowed to find that in boxing. This is actually a money grab for Oscar while not doing anything at all because this is Rizin promotion.

It's purely and exhibition fight and the boxing organisation can't withhold Ryan for doing all these. Yet it looks like he is the main event in this card.

That would really be starting up some arguements in between Ryan and GBP if that would really be that reduction and come to think that this is really just that an exhibition but since it wasnt been known or approved by the promoter then we dont really know on what would be the arrangements that will be done by this but as long they could be able to make money plus
Ryan wont really be that having some issues or problems in regarding in the fight or literally speaking about injuries or whatsoever then i dont think that they will argue that much on this one.

I'm checking if there is a postponement of this fight because of Oscar's intervention but so far there is none; the fight will still go as scheduled, the possible hindrance is Oscar, but its promoter has reassured everybody that the fight will happen. There should be a media conference in Japan, but Garcia is a no-show, and this pisses off Anpo who threw a verbal jab against Anpo.
Things are heated up on both camps, and its going to be exciting to watch these two fighters in the ring.

ryan vs anpo fight is bringing a big crowd they treated it like its the main event. they are giving so much importance even when its just an exhibition.

the only reason why this fight will not even happen is if oscar will not get a cut. of course he is going to get money out of this, he been known to have scammed his fighters since the time he got into this business.  this is even one of canelo's complain. once ryan's contract is over, oscar will not be able toe squeeze a penny from ryan.

^ Yeah, there could be possible contract violations and enough reason to stop it but it's the business side that triumphs at the end of the day. As long as both the promoter and the boxer agrees to the amount each could get, everybody will still be happy.

Yes, it's all business and if Ryan didn't include his promoter, then it's bad move for him. So the fight is officially postponed as Ryan said that he is injured. However, I do think that it was due to his issue with GBP and it forced him to make some excuse and not to continue with this fight.

But his fight with the Haney's will continue on the legal side as he filed for a counter suit against them.

Quote
ORLANDO – Ryan Garcia’s legal team has filed a counterclaim against the former two-division champion Devin Haney and his father Bill, issuing multiple denials to Haney’s lawsuit claiming battery, fraud and breach of contract, with Garcia seeking “no less than” $7.5 million in damages.

Is Ryan winning this lawsuit against Haney? He'd be upsetting the organization again and he might hit the wall again.

The Ryan-anpo fight was postponed due to Ryan's injury. There have been articles about the cancellation but maybe they are still in negotiation which the boxing organization might also protest about this exhibitions, it's always close doors.

It was the Haney's who filed the lawsuit first and then Ryan just counter. So we will have to wait for the judges as there are not decision yet.

Possible, but it's more of his promotional company which was caught off guard with this fight. And that the speculation is that it was them who stop the fight and somewhat Ryan injury is not true. Because if Ryan proceeds then he might get another lawsuit from his promoter for breach of contract.

^ Why am I not surprised with the sudden injury ;D While the chances of having an injury during training is not zero, it's probably extremely low if it's for an exhibition match no? I personally don't expect him to train hard to get injured. Anyway, we can only speculate.
