Cardano has surpassed both Solana and Ton: are you ready to invest in ADA?

Cardano gained fame in 2017 and 2021 as an extremely successful Blockchain 3.0 project in terms of the price increase of its native token - ADA, rather than its technology. eUXTO is an interesting technology, but Cardano's capacity to serve the community is limited to 257 tps ^[1].

Solana surprised the community in 2021 with a speed of 65K tps, allowing users to experience blockchain technology almost for free. Ton has even done better with a speed of 100K tps in 2023.

Although speed is just one aspect of blockchain technology, it is always highlighted as a criterion for evaluating the development level of a project. Judging by this criterion, it seems that Cardano has been permanently left behind in the history of blockchain development.

However, IOG is not easily accepting that. With a strong community and abundant budget, Cardano is constantly being upgraded. When Layer-2 becomes popular for Bitcoin and Ethereum, Cardano also has Hydra. In a recent test, Hydra was able to achieve a speed of 1M tps ^[2] - the speed target we've been talking about since 2017, which allows Cardano to serve users at a speed of 134K tps ^[3], surpassing both Solana and Ton.

While Cardano needs more development to have a truly vibrant ecosystem, news of its impressive speed has helped keep the ADA price above 1 USD for the past few weeks. I hope this will be the foundation for the Cardano ecosystem to grow further in this uptrend and bring profits to ADA holders and investors in the Cardano ecosystem. I'm starting to hear more investors mention ADA and consider adding it to their portfolio, I wish them success with that decision, as Cardano remains a leading blockchain in terms of its potential for future adoption by large businesses and organizations.

L2 ideas can be accepted by Bitcoin and Ethereum, but not by projects that promote themselves as highly scalable and will not have high fees, so I see the launch of Solana or Cardano or other layer2 altcoin as a long-term failure for the project.

1. I believe speed is an important part of the network to ensure a good user experience but it's not a prerequisite. 257 tps of Cardano is more than enough for users to use the network, and we rarely hear about Cardano network congestion. Cash flow and profit-making opportunities have a bigger impact.

2. I hold ADA, and honestly I don't know any other tokens in the Cardano ecosystem.

3. My price target for ADA in this cycle is $7, but I will take profit on ADA as soon as BTC shows the first signs of a reversal in 2025.

If you notice, although some blockchains promise Max Theor TPS of more than 10k, but Real-time and Max RecTPS are much lower than Max Theor. For example:




ICP has Real-time TPS 4,377 tx/s, Max recordered number is 25,621 tx/s while blockchain promises to process 209,708 tx/s.


SOL has Real-time TPS 1,159 tx/s, Max recordered number is 7,229 tx/s while blockchain promises to process 65,000 tx/s.


NEAR has Real-time TPS 103 tx/s, Max recordered number is 3252 tx/s while blockchain promises to process 12,000 tx/s.

I agree, speed only indicates the ability of a blockchain to meet user needs. It cannot demonstrate the stability or features that a blockchain can offer to a diverse ecosystem in the future.

For example, Eos and Neo may be very fast but they are not chosen by large projects, funds, and investors, so their ecosystems are very poor and cannot take advantage of thousands of tps speed. I hope that Ada with recent upgrades will be more successful than them and truly contribute value to the blockchain & crypto market.

I am not sure how that works between transaction fee and TPS. Taking your word, TON might be having 100K TPS but whenever I have transacted there, I have paid about a half a dollar for transaction, and TON's price been in single digits, so despite the huge TPS, TON Network looks rather expensive to me.

Ton has its own specific gas fee regulations, averaging around 0.1 TON for token transfers, which is quite expensive compared to Sol. I'm not entirely sure about the reason for this high fee when transaction fees on Sol are only a few cents. Perhaps Sol operates more efficiently, while Ton maintains a lower network speed to ensure validators' income.

High speed often comes with low fees as users won't need to bid for the right to use the blockchain. Unfortunately, Ada is not currently active enough to fully utilize its power and speed to compete with other blockchains in the market.

Yes, of course, not unless Cardano is planning to be another Bitcoin which is more of a speculative asset and less on how robust of a network it is when it comes to speed...and we know that there can never be another Bitcoin so Cardano has to find ways and means to increase its speed and L2 can be its answer for this concern.

I used to be another holder of ADA but two years ago i decided to let them ago since I got bored of its seeming non-movement and lack of developments on the network. I shifted to Bitcoin instead so I think I still made a good decision.

I am hoping that ADA can be able to successful reach the $3 level in 2025 though I am not sure of its feasibility. I still believe that Cardano got the big potential for more growth as shown in its recent price upward adjustment. Good luck to all the ADA holders.

The new developments in ADA would make it's market great.
I have a few still ADA staked in a pool. It's earning a few ADA a week and although it's not very profitable I'm stuck to It. Hoe it will change soon.

I heard the Charles  is collaborating with XRP'S RLUSD. Seeing RLSUD on Cardano chain wouldn't be so bad after Tether and USDC seem to dislike them. Can't confirm the rumor but I hope it will happen.

You sold ADA but profited from BTC. Clearly, BTC is safer than ADA, and if they bring the same profit, BTC is always the better choice for investors. Congratulations on investing in BTC instead of continuing to hold fiat/stablecoin until now!

You think ADA can reach 3 USD in 2025, meaning it can't have a new ATH this season? I have a slightly more optimistic view because ADA has a large community and a substantial treasury for upgrades and development, and IOG is also good at marketing to boost ADA's price in the market. If the project fails to deliver on its core promises, it is unlikely that the updates will lead to anything big, just as happened with Matic, where despite the updates, the failure to make L2 secure, fast, and low-fee led to the project being overtaken. ADA failed to be an alternative to Ethereum, so future updates will be useless.

I don't think the initial direction matters that much, as Sol was initially considered an Eth-killer but still couldn't replace Eth. The key for a project's growth is to balance technology, marketing, and the price chart. A good project will have many stories to pump and push the price up, and then the price increase will attract more investors.

The necessary conditions for projects are sufficient capital and room for growth, and Ada has both: they have hundreds of millions of USD in the treasury and a large market to serve with their advanced eUTXO technology. I believe Ada will not disappoint us in this season!

solana is really popular among other tokens which props solana even more in terms of popularity but i do not think that many popular projects among the network is that important if the main coin is popular and really useful anyway i also do not know a lot of projects being launched in the cardano ecosystem which what makes the difference against solana

i think it is smart to set a clear goal of what price you want to take profit on but also have some back up plans we know that bitcoin affects the overall market perception but sometimes when bitcoin drops, people tend to look for other coins to hold their money in

For example, today when BTC price dropped below 100K USD, the prices of many altcoins also decreased significantly as investors worried about a black swan event occurring in the market, or simply a necessary adjustment for future price increases. ADA price is also under the same impact and has failed to maintain the 1 USD price.

When BTC price decreases in an uptrend as it is now, I believe the best action is to continue holding and accumulating more altcoins if investors believe in their future. Selling in fear at this time seems like an unwise decision and will create great regret when the market has more new ATHs.

Actually, I believe that cryptocurrency market is always depending on Bitcoin price. When bitcoin price is increase in crypto currency market, then all crypto currency price will increase gradually. In this time we can see that bitcoin price is increase rapidly in crypto currency market, so I believe that gradually Cardano and others crypto currency price must be increase.
