How do you discover new launches??

As a web3 enthusiast, gaining quick access to new launches is always advantageous as it provides an edge. However, the process can sometimes be stressful—searching for on-chain data, filtering through information, etc. 

In recent times, innovations have made this process easier. For example, Twitter search has proven helpful for locating new projects, but filtering relevant information remains an issue. Similarly, platforms like CMC and CG offer a lot of data, but filtering through it can also be challenging, potentially causing you to miss out on opportunities. 

On the other hand, platforms like Launch X provide access to project tokens during their launch stages—similar to Launchpads but more sophisticated. Recent ecosystems like Hyper Liquid and SUI have rolled out similar features. 

So, my question is: as an experienced web3 user or a newbie, how do you discover new projects? Do any of my suggestions work for you?

There is a long time I don't look for new coins.

Back in 2017 , in the ico crazy, I discovered new projects in reddit and bitcointalk.

Nowadays a good way to discover new projects is to chase airdrops.
For example, Learn Bitcoin has a topic about airdrops.
Airdrops are mainly about projects which didn't launch yet.

So, my question is: as an experienced web3 user or a newbie, how do you discover new projects? Do any of my suggestions work for you?

In generally I always try to took the oldest project for investment which can be trusted for investment and also that can be brings a good benefit. Even then if I made some small investment on the new launched project but yeah here I also check by the coin market cap and also check them on the audit sites.
And after that if I see that is they have potential backers or the potential community and strong team behind of that project I choose for my small investment on that project because of begging some Moonbag.

I completely relate to the struggle of discovering new projects in web3! I've been using Twitter search and CMC to stay updated, but filtering through the noise can be overwhelming. I will also try out new project on Launch X: Fuel Network (FUEL) and see if it is a game-changer for me. The ability to access project tokens during their launch stages will give a significant edge to make something in this bull market.

I am sure that many people might be wondering of the same concern especially so that we are looking to have a big explosive bull run in 2025 where projects and their own coins/tokens might skyrocket to the MOON. As for me, I am not anymore actively looking for potential Web3 project to invest with as I am already full. But maybe if I ever go for something then I would also be using Twitter for announcements and CMC as well. Digging on your own is the only way to find the actual projects, there maybe telegram groups claims that they are doing such but all they do is shilling for projects to get paid in pennies and steal dollars from the investors so you just have to filter the information available on cmc and others and analyse it one by one to find the potential projects.

However, I don't like investing in new project because no one knows if the project will be profitable in the long run. This is why I do advice people to be very careful when they are investing on new project because it might just be another avenue to scam people.

Your suggestions are great because most of the newly launched projects can be seen on X and if you’ve been active on the platform, you could get first hand information about them which is the most important thing, to get in earlier in projects like this. Some other people have some Twitter influencers who are into web3 and they are always on the watch out on their new projects to be promoted. Some Twitter influencers who are web3 enthusiasts get more first hand information that when you turn ON notifications for them, you’ll get in early to projects and get more reward than one who joins later.

We also understand when there are new opportunities on the horizon, it’s good to be equal parts assertive and wary. Every step comes with expectation and pressure to consider every option with much rigour. Based on other people’s examples and data available to us, we can be conscious of things that are not seen to the naked eye. Intuition reminds us to pay attention to reality and defend ourselves while the facts help us make decisions that would benefit the cause. Proper choices instil a rationality that the actions being made are not for the present, but for the sturdier tomorrow.

Ever since the ICO hype back in 2017, I never tried to invest into new projects because of what happened in the past few years.

If you're into crypto space for quite some, you will know that most of the new projects ending up as a scam project, an abandoned project, or if the coin has value, it just goes down, and down, and down. That's what's happening with most of the new projects that's why I don't even do some research onto them. Yes, the rewards are great, but it also has a big risk since anytime, they can just run away especially if the developers are anonymous.

Hyperliquid has been the hype in the past few weeks and its token just rise up more than 8x since it launched. Hmmm, I might do some research on that project as well.

Yes, you can easily have a coin which will boom heavily, like I had about 3k ETH Blue just before it went up and I made some money from it at that time. But you can also land coins which despite the very good description will not move significantly like my investment few years back in Modex.
It is more like a gambling and not everyone is good with that in mind.

It's actually easier to find projects on X but the information isn't filtered hope you know?. You need to sieve through tons of data if not you'll be rugged in no time.. for insurance X is where I found fuel sale is going live via launchX and I'm in their pre sale.. but it took allot of time and research.

New launches with utilities isn't gambling .I can list 10 new launches this year that has created multiple ATH. Hyperliquidd, grass, purr, xion are just few. The key like I said is finding the right information and beating the other 99% of crypto users to it..

Too many projects are being launched as time passes and that's not the main problem though. Actually the problem is more and more shady and Ponzi schemers are out there launching different projects. Back in the day it was easier to spot scam projects from things like setup goals, developers involved and even things like white papers.

It's actually getting more and more difficult to spot these projects. Different web3 users have their different ways of noticing new projects and for some they usually have a community where web3 related discussions and research is carried out.

The truth is i don't look for altcoin projects, too many of them don't end up well, so i don't really waste time going after them. However, every new coin i got some information about, i did so when others talked about them, either on crypto forums or on social media.

My main sources of information are X and Discord
On X you have to follow the users who post the content you're looking for. For example, if you're looking for airdrops, follow users who farm airdrops and are always posting new information
On Discord, join the communities you already know where people exchange information.

Now for the golden tip that I wish I know before: join a community that has the same goal as you, whether it's free or paid, but join it.
It can be on Discord, telegram, whatsapp, whatever, but a community always has valuable information and they always post about new projects

I know some good communities but in ly language (portuguese), try to find a good community in your language or in english if you are good at it
