How do you discover new launches??

The truth is i don't look for altcoin projects, too many of them don't end up well, so i don't really waste time going after them. However, every new coin i got some information about, i did so when others talked about them, either on crypto forums or on social media.

Altcoins doesn't end well but it's not all of them. I'm not a fan either but they are very good in maximizing usdt where you can convert it to your favorite Bitcoin. The way we are in bull run right now, Bitcoin is very high in value but it does not outperformed how altcoins has run this year alone, Bitcoin has did just 130% this year.

You can buy them before their launch and sell them at launch, even if you are able to make 3x of where you bought them, it's something reasonable to be able to buy more Bitcoin.

It is my pastime to look for new launches or new projects and see how they have been with their development. This is hard to know whether they'll do good or not because no one will know if this is going to work for most of them. The crypto market is now becoming like the lottery and it gets harder to know for what projects are going to be discoverable and if they are going to perform very well like today, this is a bull run that no one will ever know if it will work or not.

In recent times, innovations have made this process easier. For example, Twitter search has proven helpful for locating new projects, but filtering relevant information remains an issue. Similarly, platforms like CMC and CG offer a lot of data, but filtering through it can also be challenging, potentially causing you to miss out on opportunities. 

On the other hand, platforms like Launch X provide access to project tokens during their launch stages—similar to Launchpads but more sophisticated. Recent ecosystems like Hyper Liquid and SUI have rolled out similar features. 

So, my question is: as an experienced web3 user or a newbie, how do you discover new projects? Do any of my suggestions work for you?

Well for me I am a newbie but I love making research so that I can be on the the same level with the professional, finding promising new projects can definitely feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Although I just discovered platforms like LaunchX(BG new staking product) which have made it easier by providing access to tokens during launch stages, which really cuts through the noise.

While exploring further, I noticed Fuel Network is there and also on Poolx, a solid project that caught my attention. It’s refreshing to see tools like these offering structure and opening doors to real Web3 opportunities.

Well this is just my own opinion. I will love to hear what works for others!

if a well known team makes a new project then there is less risk of course but it will still not be enough of a guarantee that the coin will be valued at a great price which is what we are all aiming for anyway at the end of the day some other signs that the project may be legit and could have great potential is even if the team is new if you see them organized active and engaged with the community this is usually a good sign for the project

well i do not tend to go all out for new projects which for some people could be regrettable if the project turns out to be good but you also have to think which one weighs more: minimizing the losses or maximizing the profit and make your decision based on that

At least we can see their track record from the development and success of previous projects. However, it is true that all of that will not guarantee that their new project will also be successful. Yes, at least, this is one of the considerations. However, if they are a new team that we have just met and even if they are not a project that has a strong fundamental, especially just a kind of meme coins, then it seems that we have to look at many more factors, such as the most influential is the community of the new project, although this is also not a guarantee, but at least if the project already has a community with many members, and they dare to promote it quite significantly, then hype arises everywhere, then we can try to take it at TGE but with a small nominal. and optimize opportunities when listing then take profits, no need to hold longer

True, meme lives and dies based on the community. Token allocation and distribution are probably key factors, especially for meme coins. It's hard to imagine them growing as quickly as possible if the distribution to the community is low and expensive, they'll get left behind because people will call it a scam even though most developers are anonymous. It also helps that the market is in a bull cycle right now. I believe things will change significantly when the bear market hits, and we'll see a big filtering process that won't leave memes alone. a team really needs to give utmost importance to the community to the people that are participating in their projects because they are the one to break or make their project unfortunately a lot of projects do not take care of the community just because they only care about themselves and the profit they can make

yeah every project has to prove something first no matter how “good” a project may seem to be like they can’t oversell themselves and prop their project up only for it to list under an underwhelming price all the hype would have gone wasted

The best way is coinmarket cap where we can find new listings and top gainers and top losers etc. We can join any telegram group there must be one because it just not possible that there would not be any such group.

THe group can also give us the information about new listings there are groups that can tell us the dates for ICOs and listing of new tokens there are some groups which tells us the potential of new listing tokens but there are dedicated sites too.

There are many ways we can so discover about new offers being launch in the crypto space, all we have to do is by following some of the crypto enthusiasts and official platforms on the social media, get updates from the crypto news sites like cointelegraph and the likes, then we may also get some reliable information regarding a project from the exchanges as well.

Yeah that's actually a quite fancy strategy but unfortunately it's not very applicable to the fullest in reality. You see most people that buy or mine huge chunks of these altcoins often store them on Centralised exchanges when very close to their launch date and time. And it's quite understandable since it's easier for them to sell off from there.

However buying before launch is not the problem here . The issue is selling off after the launch. Most Centralised exchanges lock trading of those newly launched coins for around 5 - 10 mins just after the global launch time and this means you can't swap or sell during that period and within that 5 mins price usually falls drastically.

A legitimate team is organized and always involves the community, but the most important thing is whether the developer is open or not with the community.
Because some devs will sometimes only get involved at the beginning and disappear when the price continues to fall.

I have a memecoin project with Dev Doxed who is always engaged with the community and always gives directions for what to do when the market is not good, he is always there for the community and the project doesn't just disappear.

A good developer and a lot of plans will make the project a reliable project in the end, not just a waste project that is left behind.

It's hard for me to find new projects because I see that my ability to find crypto projects that will be launched is limited. I also see on Telegram channels that everything needs something that is very up to date and sometimes Telegram channels are also behind on information.
Sometimes I also see in this crypto community that there is something secret from the Telegram channel because usually newly launched projects have very high potential to increase, so some people on Telegram like to keep it secret. But after the coin price is high, it is shared to increase its FDV. That's how business works.

There are many sites where you can get information about previous releases, those that are in progress, and those that will be released soon. Most are sites established during the ICO boom in 2016-2017, so the information is consistent and very detailed in most cases. Keep in mind that there are many more similar sites, but the older ones are always more reliable.
