I am sure many people gained a lot worth of money while playing in this very exciting cryptocurrency industry where huge opportunities and big risks collide...sometimes doing us some favor and sometimes also taking something from us. Through the years, I have had been exposed to scams, frauds and mistakes that in retrospect could have already made me rich at least in my country's standard. In my estimated, I think I lost at least $300K mostly in terms of potential earnings primarily because I let go of my 2 Bitcoin maybe around 5 years ago and made many mistakes (including getting into bad programs and projects) that cost me good amount of coins and tokens along the way.

Sorry for your experience and I must say that is huge amount of money when converting to our Local currency (NGN) and if I happened to have that amount I won't be poor again because I will ensure to make judicious use of the money altogether..
To me had never fall into serious scam or lost huge significant amount of money, because I am always careful and minding the kind of cryptocurrencies I should hold, especially I gives more priority to bitcoin than any other coin out there. You know when you jump from projects to projects you exposed yourself of losing more quickly than any others because you wouldn't know the intention of those project owners.

        -    300k$ is a big amount of money, if I convert it to our money here in our country, I will be considered a rich person here. I can buy a nice house with that and a car and a business. Maybe I can also buy a simple beach resort there.

Maybe you are just really into investment opportunities here in cryptocurrency. But it seems like you have also recovered somehow from other crypto assets that you bought and your holdings now for this bull run that you can still earn even more.

Speaking about losing up money and the opportunity that i had missed out then i do say that i did missed out that holding that 60 BTC in overall earning from bounties,signature campaigns, testnets, ICO's,meme coins loss on which i could say that if i had been able to hold it up for long term then i might be that living on a good life now if i do able to hold up and being patient but well past is past and there's nothing we can do but to move on, but there are really indeed times or moments that you will be able to rethink those moments on which it does really give out that bad mood but well whats done is done and you do need to move forward for you to be able to find up things along the way and its important that you do made out those realizations.

If time/effort could be easily converted to cash, I probably have six digits as well. A lot of them came from doing some crypto-related works and did not purchase them directly from my day job. Now, looking back at the potential profit I could have made if I held on longer, I once sold 4 ETH at around $400 to spend on gadgets. I thought it was already a huge money back then. I've converted more over the years but there's no point in tracing them back to compute.

I think those are actually end up losing the most in crypto are actually either those that invest in meem coins and some other shit coins or people that trade very volatile coins. As for the case of bitcoin investments you hardly end up in losses even if you make use of the DCA strategy which is actually a slower approach to investing in bitcoin.

The crypto space is very vast and people lose everyday in fact I think it's safe to say that the rate of wins and losses in the crypto space cancels out each other.

Nice ideas topic for sharing about how much losses in cryptocurrency industry.

Firstly I begin trading in cryptocurrency all capital from bounties campaign and airdrop project reward, never spending any one cent yet from my pocket or my saving money because I don't have anything yet before knowing cryptocurrency. Although have much losses when my altcoin get decreasing price and got liquid at future trading but totally all my capital reward earn from bounty and airdrop project.
If totally maybe losses more than thousand hundred dollar from trading in spot and future then any coins holding from bounty reward have not values yet until right now after delisting at market.

I've had the misfortune of being involved in some projects that didn't work out either, like FTX, Negocie Coins which was a local exchange, I've lost money investing in dubious coins...
At FTX I had some SOLs that could be worth good money today due to the appreciation, but it was valued at 17 dollars to pay off the debt to me, so I consider it a good amount of money lost as well

Can someone help to calculate properly the amount I have lost in crypto industry. Personally I have purchased crypto for several hundreds euro only, but got thousands and thousands from participating in airdrops, bounties and etc. On one hand, I have lost zero, because crypto I have purchased for fiat I still hold. On the other hand I had one my wallet compromised and I have lost probably $500 worth crypto in 2019. Those stoles crypto today will have a much higher value. I can add that there are some altcoins I have bought and sold with a loss. Maybe I have lost around two thousands on unsuccessful purchased. Do that counts? Or this more correct is to name it as under-received profit?

Tbh, i gained much more than lossing. Once i lost $1k for clumsiness before in one day but i eventually recover in the next day with plus interest ($1.2k) so the loss does not matter to me anymore.

You can only be given an advice but it is you that will know if you listen to such advice or not because youbwill be held responsible for your own actions. The gain that you said you lost for hodli, did you sell those bitcoin of yours during the bear market due to panic or because you needed the funds. Because I believe that when talking about bitcoin hodli is the best for your bitcoin to multiply in value since bitcoin price increases overtime.

I lost a lot from my ignorance and being an unbeliever. I have over 20 Bitcoin that I lost from selling too early. I should have been modest, but what can you expect from someone who, for the first time in his life, holds 100 times more of his income?
But to buy the necessities in life thinking this concept will be gone tomorrow, time proved me wrong.

You know sometimes ignorance would not allow one to see the future and as such, make one make silly mistakes that would cost them a lot of things. I have lost coins that were worth thousands of dollars to hackers and several occasions which I never thought would happen, some were as a result of my ignorance at the initial start and some were a friend whom I trusted but he masterminded the process thinking I will have no clues about it in the future. I believe the amounts put together could go a long way to help sort out this for me.

This is a very sad incident.  It was a really big amount.  With such an amount, a person in my country can pay for the whole family for the whole life.  What is lost cannot be regained.  But try and you can get something better.

More or less everyone who is into crypto has lost many things, some remember them and some try to forget them.  I have also lost a lot in crypto and gained a lot from crypto.  It is better not to worry about losing something where you can get something.  And I don't want to mention my lost amount.
