as much as i believe that we should dictate our own lives and our own decisions especially when it comes to our money i think it wouldn't hurt to go and seek out advices from time to time i am not saying we should take these advices as the absolute truth but it would allow us to gain some perspectives

my question: who is more credible to give advices about cryptocurrency, someone with a degree who has studied something similar with economics, finance, or technology or someone with no degree but has been involved in cryptocurrency for years? whose opinion will you hold in a higher regard?

As far as I know the two hands washes each other.
I mean, you can pick financial knowledge from those who has degree on the course of finance, they also have their own to attributes to your investment journey. Same thing applicable to those who has involved in crypto for decades, they also have their guidelines and key words to chip in into your investment journey. So, you can pick advise from these sets of people to boost and enhance your knowledge as you make your investment plans.

Somebody that has a background in financial management. I believe that's the best person to seek advice from.

I'm into cryptocurrency for more than 5 years already, but I don't want to say that I'm the best person to seek advice with. On the other hand, those who have deep knowledge about financial literacy or financial management can give advice to a newbie. There are certain things that you can apply in Stock Market that's also applicable in crypto as well. Whenever I watch videos online, I always go with somebody that has background in financial literacy, and a no-no for me for those who doesn't have, but into crypto for a long time.

I'm not saying though that those experts in financial management always give good advice though because there are some that are giving bad advice still, and vice-versa. I guess it's all up to the person who they will follow their advice with.

As for myself, I do not follow any particular figures related to the industry but I do pick up some good posts in Facebook and X where I can learn a thing or two that can enhance my crypto journey. But it would be good to have some authoritative personalities that we can trust and would not lead us astray especially so with the fact that there are so many scammers lurking in the dark wherever you go online.

Like the message "Not a financial advice" every after podcast they do on YouTube. Yep most probably I will listen to both and will just see which one happens.

But when it comes to trading, I think you will still be listening to yourself before you would do something either sell or hold.

I have seen people on wall observer who did well in predictions, he won BTC price prediction as well but still wouldn't really guarantee to anyone his predictions to be the right one to follow.

Cryptocurrency is not really rocket science with the right attitude and focus, you can learn about it even without a degree because everything you want to learn about investing in cryptocurrency can be accessed online and with years of practicing about investing and how cryptocurrency works, he can give the best advice, There are things that experience can give you that you can't learn from

In investing in crypto I prefer to focus on doing my own research and analysis, I don't look for role models because for me learning by myself is better than following others. because if we make mistakes because of our own analysis and predictions, it can be a reference for us to fix it, so that in the future we don't make the same mistakes.

Yeah, I believe how much long a person has also spent learning about cryptocurrency also contributes in so many ways how much experience the person would be able to gather and attain, sometimes certain mistakes people also make while putting their learning to practice can also be a viable source of knowledge too. Just as you said, beating a crypto guru doesn’t really require a degree, there are several sources online that contains all the necessary information one needs to navigate the crypto market and all it takes it dedication and patience to learn and understand all one needs.

Now on taking advise, I'll take advise from someone who has been involved in cryptocurrency for many years as practical experience always triumphs knowledge (i.e, degree), things you go through by being regularly active will always be valuable than rather historical knowledge in books.

It's always great to hear the perspective of others if needed - but this would still not be enough.
Doing your own thing with the thoughts that you compile is the way to go. And a degree doesn't matter to me much - if the expertise shines through the person's actions and wisdom.

Cryptocurrency world is also a very difficult process for new person. So I think that we need to best acquire knowledge from cryptocurrency market. There is a big difference between an institutional degree and practical knowledge, just having a degree can never do as good as an experienced person but an institutional degree helps a person to show the right path and later on when that person gets experience in a practical way, its value increases a lot. goes  It is very rare to get a degree studying crypto as it is not institutionally recognized yet but there are many who have years of experience in crypto and you should definitely seek advice from those experienced people then it will be more beneficial for you.

The reason for such statement is that they wouldn't want you to hold them responsible for losing their hand earn money due to follow your advice and one other thing we must note is that, market is so volatile and even if I say the market will end up with such amount by a specific day or month and it happens that it doesn't ends that way then I have giving that person a wrong advice that led to their lost. To be self-acclaimed or to abstained from giving someone the wrong financial advise then using such words are what they mostly used.

It depends on the type of advice, even developers may be bad at predicting while traders' advice is bad in terms of account security or privacy, so you should divide cryptocurrencies into several specializations such as investment, security, privacy, and then ask several trusted people according to the subdivision.
some are pro bitcoiners and will tell you to stay away from altcoins.
