Yesterday, the former heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, announced his retirement from boxing following a failed attempt of winning a rematch against Usyk.

It's not the first time he announced his retirement. He has done it in the past (2022) but later decided to return shortly after.
Whether it's a thought-through decision, or just his current mood - I don't know. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
He's 36, so not that old for the heavyweight, he could potentially have a couple of more fights in him.

I think this is final, i mean he really mean it this time as he doesn't have any more motivation to fight. With this announcement of Fury, then it is final that we can't see AJ vs Fury happening so better for Joshua to retire as well .

since this is not the first time he has announced retirement many people are in doubt about whether this will stick or not to me it seems like every time he will lose he will announce retirement and then when he wants to fight again he will until he finally wins i mean he is still young so maybe there will be another time where he will come back to the sport but if he loses again he is just going to announce retirement again lol at some point retirement is sounding and meaning less and less every time it comes from him

I don't know, it feels like something is up but who knows? Is there a rumored fight that organizers are planning for him before this announcement? Something is telling me that he's probably trying to leverage this retirement thing to force them to give what he wants. It could be fight purse, PPV, or other conditions.

He did great on his return, beating one of the knockout artists and undisputed heavyweight champion in Deontay Wilder to eventually become an undisputed champion. He made a great impact in boxing. I still see him as a capable boxer because in his last fight he showed speed and power and great motivation, so I doubt if he really wants to hang up his gloves, but he is that serious this time. He deserves to enjoy life, and the money he earned from all his fights is hard-earned money.

That guy absolutely has nothing to offer anymore, he has retired since he made the first announcement. What he is doing now is using his past glory to make money from publicity. Look at what they stage as fight with Paul, anyone would have seen that coming but they made it look real, did all the advertisements and collaboration and now everyone has gone back to there corner enjoying the money they made.

He should better not come back again. He is one of the well respected fighter in the history of UFC fighting. He has made some money from the last finish fight. He better use it to establish and start something good instead of this usual quarter level of show up and hiding.

I think this time he meant it,i guess he was moody when he announced about the retirement,but this time am really sure he is going on his retirement.

Yes, he is probably just wanting to get more money again and so he retires for now. But for sure he will comeback when HE will offer him a big money to make  comeback against Anthony Joshua.

Not the first time to hear that he is going to retire, that's why many boxing pundits are still torn whether to take him seriously or not. In any case if he retires then he has a lot of money in the bank already and can start fresh in his life and family.

I have a strong feeling we'll see him fighting again. Obviously, he must have lost a lot of motivation after losing his undefeated status to Usyk in their first fight and then failing at the rematch. So no wonder his immediate reaction is to give it a rest and move on. But after sitting around and doing nothing he'll get hungry again and will come back. He still has plenty of options that could earn him $ millions, this is hard to turn his back on.
I believe Eddie Hearn is pressing hard to get him to fight Anthony Joshua, which would be a great opportunity for either of them to redeem themselves and get back to the top.
And even if Fury won't fight any official fights anymore, he'd likely return to the ring for some exhibition fights, maybe a rematch with Ngannou, maybe Jon Jones

- Tyson Fury announced on Monday that he has retired from boxing
- Some feel it's a publicity stunt to improve his position in negotiations to fight AJ
- Eddie Hearn is still hopeful that a fight can be made between the two Brits

So, as expected, Eddie Hearn is not accepting Fury's retirement announcement and keeps pushing to make the Fury Vs AJ happen. I hope he succeeds.
Although if the fight is to take place this summer at Wembley, Tyson will have to change his mind very soon, as booking venue and organising such event always require a lot of time.
Obviously it won't be as exciting as when both were at the top, but I'd still be happy to watch it. Plus, the winner will have his chance to return to the top.

We have seen Mike Tyson return at an old age for a fight. I am sure it will not be the last time we see him in the ring. Sportsmen usually suffer from coming to terms with the new reality they have to face when they retire from the sport they have been engaged in for the longest of times. There are some of them who would take up coaching jobs just so that they will not be far away from the sport. I will be following up on Fury to see where next he chooses to focus on.
