Make the forum UI more mobile friendly

So there's this thing where you're browsing the forum on your mobile phone but you're seeing all sorts of ads everywhere as well as the animated signatures. And it's very bad for battery life if you just leave it on the screen and not minimize the app.

I know it's not that much for me personally but that's only because I'm using a newer phone, but on my older phone it is very eaily noticeable.

The solution would be to have a checkbox to disable it or maybe to use less Javascript.

You are right about the ads, they should be resized or even disappear in mobile.

Other than that, I feel the same about BTT.... both are not mobile friendly.  At first it was a problem for me, but I got used to it.

Our mobile screen will off itself if there's no activity for a certain time which is the desired time we select under the settings. For example I set the value at 5 min so if I didn't touch the screen for 5 minutes the display will off, isn't? Or the animated avatar plays a role here???

I think we are having the same problem on Bitcointalk and other SMF based forums, they are generally not that good for using on mobile devices.
There are some members who created userscripts that makes browsing experience better, so maybe they could be improved even more.
Another option would be creation of Altcoinstalks forum APP for mobile devices.

I don't mean to be rude but why not just minimize? It's press of button, and just as easy to get back on browser again? Am I missing smth?

Most browsers have disable JavaScript option.

As long as those animated ads are running in the background your battery is getting drained while posting although the impact is not noticeable unless you pay more attention to it.

The Coinimize signature sucks BTW, the animation isn't necessary, it sucks mobile to look at. Admin needs to disabled animated signatures so this place do not turn into circus.

I think he can hide those ads with some adblocker installed in web browser, or browse the forum with all images disabled, I know this won't look pretty but it will spend less resources for sure.
I am not sure if there is option to hide signatures in profile settings like we have in bitcointalk forum, but that can be another option.

I understand that the forum needs those ads, so I don't think this is much of a problem...

Yes, and that is creating reading issues even on larger screen.
It would be great if someone could create working script that could optionally hide this ads, with browser extensions.

I created a custom rule which can be used in ublock origin (and maybe in other ad blocks as well). It workes in mobile

just add this to your custom filters

This will block the most annoying ads.

I use mobile firefox and ublock origin.

Is it working even after you refresh page and restart browser?
I made my own custom rule for adblocker a while ago, but as soon as I open browser next time News ticker was showing up and moving again.

Note that for updated Chrome browser adblockers are working worse then before.
uBlockorigin is now Lite version with less options to customize.
I suggest switching to Firefox browser and it's forks like Librewolf or Mullvad browser.

EDIT:
I tried two rules you posted but I can still see big ad banner on top.
It appears that news ticker is not visible at the moment, and huge ad in posts are gone (for now).

Ofc it works, not matter how many times you reload or restart browser or rebbot your computer...

You can see the big banner in the top because it is not in the rules of the adblock. It was not requested
