Can you be a Reputable Tipster after winning BTC prediction contest?

I'm just curious if you have joined those BTC price prediction contest and won some BTC?

I once won with my prediction but that was just once. After a few attempts of joining, I have not won again which I stopped joining because it does look like I'm not  that good as I thought. If you have joined, how many times have you won?

I see price bitcoin predictions most times as luck because it's impossible predict the market. I have partake in some price predictions but I wasn't lucky enough to win any of them. It's same thing with gambling and you win by luck.

I have won once in an event on the AltcoinsTalks forum but couldn't continue winning even though I used the same market analysis approach. This is completely normal because the tools I use cannot accurately predict price fluctuations of a few hundred dollars. I think luck plays a big role in winning monthly BTC closing price prediction contests.

I am also satisfied with my luck. I continue to participate in prediction contests to give myself a chance, as well as to support the contest sponsor. Market prediction is also quite interesting and helps me relieve stress in life and in my investment journey.

Jacksclub been doing this price prediction for months on bitcointalk and i have been casting my prediction there. i have not won yet. i leave the game to them since i have already forgotten my passwd in jacksclub because i couldn't win. but there are time that i'm almost.

if you keep winning i think jacksclub would now allow you to join anymore. i think you should also give chance to some of those who hasn't won yet.

if you are good at prediction, i think it would be easyfor you to make money in the market.

Those competitions have little to do with actually being a tipster.

A guy who won that thing 3 times out of 10 might be worse in his predictions than a guy who never got a win but was always in the top 2-3 matches, plus beside luck, some will try to get a sweet spot where there is a gap so rather than choosing 50100 because 50050 and 50150 are taken they go for 54000 as the closest prediction are 52000 and 59000 for example.

I can't remember exactly if I won but have been joining at some point decided to stop because I know my prediction wouldn't go as a predicted though sometimes when it's posted I feels like to join and cast my predictions, but I won't after several attempts. But I don't think this should be a thing to bother you because usually there must be a winner in all predictions and contest.

One prediction contest I see will have 3 winners every week. 1st, 2nd and 3rd which if you couldn't win the first you still have 2 more chance. I wanted to show how I could be a good trader by showing my future clients how I win trades. I guess I can't show the thread to impress them.

Upon seeing back the thread, I couldn't help tracking all its thread and see who among those users at least won multiple times. Sure there are newbies better than the legendary users.

Similar contest was held again, joined it again, and won again another $500 and I got message from guy holding this contest asking if I am a professional trader that I make so accurate predictions. I replied, no it was just sheer luck.

In fact, in my opinion, most of the members who win or participate in these contests are those who have general analysis skills, most of them know less about professional analysis skills such as technical analysis and fundamental analysis, and if luckily one of us does a prediction workout once or twice, then we win there and I think this is what happens most of the time.

And to be honest I haven't won yet any kind of this prediction contest and I think it is not possible to be a reputable tipster because of winning in a bitcoin prediction contest.

That's a surprise. So the guy still remembers you after months of no contact? I think winning 2 times is not enough to judge whether someone is a professional trader in a price prediction contest though, the sample size is too small. I guess he was just being nice.

Personally, even if I was confident with my prediction I wouldn't jump ship and try to be a tipster. The risk is just too great. One bad call and your reputation can be affected. Especially if you have a contract or a paid service. I'd rather earn small as long as it's consistent instead of risking my reputation.

IIRC I received DM asking BTC address to receive winnings, now if you win two times, you would automatically remember he's same guy that won last time. There isn't much to it.

I always participate because it is a free contest and even if my prediction is incorrect, I have nothing to lose since the entry is free. I have not won any of the contests I have entered. However, when you look at those who have won, you will notice that it is not won by one person alone. Different people made predictions and won at different times.

This means that a person cannot claim to be a tipster simply because he was fortunate enough to predict and win. It is a combination of luck and analysis. People can only predict by analyzing specific factors, and accuracy depends on luck. Thus, winning a BTC contest does not guarantee you will become a reputable and successful tipster.

I joined several times, and it never won... maybe about fifteen to twenty times I guessed the Bitcoin price on a contest on the Bitcointalk forum... it was never right... it seems I'm really bad at predicting prices... LOL

Minimal analysis and very uneducated are probably the main causes, I really want to win even just once,,, but even that never happened... from there, some of the guesses I wrote were only based on instinct, because I had given up on this guessing analysis... yeah maybe if one day I get the right prediction, it means it's just my luck... because a winrate below 8% is very bad.

I never do any analysis whatsoever in these prediction contests yet I have won a few times, so I don't think it's lack of analysis or uneducated guesses are the cause, it's complete luck.

I mean yeah, you don't make $8K as guess price after 30 days when current price is $100K, keep your guesses reasonable and luck should strike soon enough.

IMO, it's similar to a raffle where you pick one lucky number; it's pretty sure mainly luck. Sure, you can extrapolate, try to find patterns, etc., but luck is the dominant factor when we talk about something that involves uncertainty, just as @libert19 mentioned.

Except if you won 7 out of 10 BTC prediction contests; then I'd say you are extraordinary and could make a career as a tipster.
