Since DeepSeek, a new Chinese AI protocol, was publicly launched last Friday, crypto mining stocks have experienced a notable slump.

I have read a lot about this upcoming Chinese AI monster DeepSeek and here are some points:

It started by offering the program for free to everyone with the same paid OpenAI features, which forced the latter to make their program free for most features.

The worst thing happened with Nvidia because it is a company that relies on selling expensive processing units with a 90% profit margin, while artificial intelligence can be used with regular graphics processing units for games .

The Chinese DeepSeek will confuse American technology companies for some time and will force them to accelerate the development of their programs and present them early to win the competition.

The impact of this is clear on technology stocks in the American market. Trump even asked AI companies to reconsider their way of working in line with new developments.

I am starting to think now that the bubble for the AI tech stocks are about to burst. With all of these other emerging AI companies and appears to offer free service and with their paid ones that are considerably cheaper than the usual ones, they'll be patronized by the users of it. It seems that there is like a gold rush for the AI technology and that's why with the sudden showing up of Deepseek, this becomes a serious threat to companies that are focusing to AI and just as Trump seated, he has said about $500B of fund for AI infrastructure in the US.

Yes, if American companies do not review their accounts and re-offer their services for free or almost free, they will not be able to compete with this new Chinese entrant.

What also surprises me is the amount of lies that American companies tell their users. Imagine that the giant Nvidia, for example, was making 90% profit on its products!! Is this reasonable? Why all this greed? Instead of reducing the value of your products so that everyone can buy them and spreading them on a wider scale. Now this little monster has caused destruction to their industry.

What does AI have to do with bitcoin mining, and more importantly, why would it have any sort of effect on Bitcoin miners' stocks? They are two completely different domains.

Maybe it's just wall street traders losing their collective minds today (this is far too sophisticated to be the work of r/wallstreetbets) but I don't expect these miner stocks to stay down for long because of some LLM.

DeepSeek is definitely better than GPT as it is cost-effective and 10x faster and more responsive than GPT. AFAIK if it remained that way for a longer period, then people would almost forget GPT, and they would start using Deepseek projects. I also heard the news that recently, deepseek had a cyber attack, due to which we are unable to create an account on it at the moment I just tried, and it failed manually and with Google.

I can say one thing at the moment: GPT might not be as powerful as DeepSeek because there are many other projects that are faster than GPT, but the model which is used by most people is getting most of the data, and thus, their data model is most human friendly if deep seek just like many other projects won't get much attention or users it is going to fail too, there is not a big risk to GPT, it's just a trend on social media to make a fuss, as recently there was a fuss that an AI tool is able to create the whole project (software) like from planning to documentation while later they said it can't.

Deepseek need time to overtake GPT in terms of trust.

Well, this is just another affirmation that anything "Made in China" can indeed be so cheap and that is why they can easily compete in the global market and this time around DeepSeek will be disrupting heavily the Ai and related markets for good. As far as USA can be concerned, this is a BIG challenge for its many players to come, unite and make a comprehensive move in order not to be the losers set aside by something coming from China. There is no question that DeepSeek will have game-changing and far-ranging repercussions in the market...and in fact there can be more great innovations coming from China in years to come and if other leading countries will not be careful and be sleeping on their jobs we can have the Earth be renamed to Great Wall of China soon.

Haha I also heard this on instagram that deepseek an Ai made another AI lose job haha, well, one thing is for sure with proper marketining anything can be showed as a bubble and market manipulation is also real although how strong a project be, for example as of speaking now deepseek have around 12M to 15M monthly visitors.

While ChatGPt has 4 Billion monthly visitors, to compete with GPT, Deepseek needs a lot of time and real marketing, and I am pretty sure sooner or later, they will be tagged as someone stealing data using this AI, but they made a smart move by making it open source.

I expect this will change quickly with an open source application where millions of developers around the world can participate in its development, in addition to its great cheapness and operational capabilities compared to GPT, I expect that GPT could literally lose its job and people will forget about it unless developers can keep it competitive with greater and cheaper features.

haha that is quite ironic but let us see because chat gpt seems to have cemented itself in the society and a lot of people are familiar with chatgpt but not yet with deepseek so it might take a while for completely (if ever) for chat gpt to lose its job technically

I am still wondering if Deepseek issues has any connection with Bitcoin mining, it is supposed to be a separate market, or may be because Nvidia as a company is into computer manufacturing that are used on Bitcoin mining, otherwise deepseek saga has no link Bitcoin whatsoever.
Stocks markets as we know has some differences on it operations and may not be compared to Bitcoin market and how it works.

This would not be a smart decision from Trump, banning DeepSeek in the US would not solve the problem and would damage the US reputation as oppressive and unable to compete with cheap Chinese technology.

In addition, since the application is open source, any American company can take the code and make a similar application, so I do not think that banning will be a solution, the US should accept the challenge and find a suitable solution that does not damage the reputation of American technology.

New products take time as currently we can't really use Deepseek quickly I registered a few days ago, but I was able to use Deepseek now, which means they were having this much delay, which is bad for their traffic and puts a bad impression on their users.

They should work on this, and they should do some advertising as well, the users of gpt are huge they are in billions, but the users for deep Seek are not in the billions yet with time and improvement, their users will be more, and deep seek is not actually free it's API are also paid. People won't use it because it is not responding well at the moment.
