This used to be a massive sports festival at my alma mater, with winners receiving awards and certificates in various categories. I used to compete in 100 meters, sack races, and high jumps.
Sometimes I look back in my mind and wish for those old school days. When there were disagreements about who raced more than the other, we simply waited for interhouse sports to settle the matter.
The cheers from housemates, house masters, and mistresses, as well as the glucose we received after each race, made me wish that every day was inter-house sports. Even when we lose, we always look forward to the next inter-house competition to improve.
At this level, there was some gambling, but I did not realize what we were doing was gambling. We gambled by making the loser pay for our "moi-moi" and ice cream. Indeed, gambling has been part of our activities without our knowledge.
