we have heard of news of usa, canada, mexico and china seem to be battling against each other trying to impose regulations that would put other countries at a disadvantage economically and politically speaking

if you are not from any of the countries mentioned, how can we make use of their own battles to our advantage? well what i think of is focusing on our local goods more and start depending less on big countries when it comes to products and services especially if we can do it anyway the government should invest more on what we have rather than try to get something out of the big countries when they are in a crisis of their own

That's definitely the ideal thing to do. The bad news is that the people on top have their interests which are usually related to those countries in one way or another. For example, a politician in my country has a lot of businesses that sell most of their products to China, so I doubt he'll ditch the China market and focus on our local market unless there's significant profit over there. Even if the government forces people to use local products, if the quality is terrible no one is going to like them. We can talk about improving production quality and whatnot but those things don't happen overnight. Maybe the big countries already sorted out their deals while the local program hasn't started yet.

And where is that money going to come from?
The global economy is way too interlinked for a country to avoid this, the mortgage crisis in the US back in 2007 made people lose their homes in the recession in Moldova and Egypt people who had no clue what a mortgage was as they didn't speak English.

Just as an example, there are just 6 countries in the world that can produce the number of ball bearings they need, without this, nothing with moving parts, no motors of any kind, no transport, no cars, no machinery, just chaos.

I am not a fan of politics and I am not also an economist but I am just one of those who are observing on what will be the consequences of this kind of economic war since that might also be helpful to better understand it's long term effect not just the countries involved but also for those that are closely tied to these nations wherein my country is surely one of them.

It seems the most affected on that kind of war isn't just the economy of a specific country especially those who are involved but also the livelihood and convenience of the people.

 It is far from a secret that the amount of natural resources is now rapidly decreasing. Therefore, the true essence of all current wars is the same - redistribution of the remaining resources, ensuring access to fresh water... And profiting from the military complex. They don't care about human sacrifices...

What is happening between these countries is interest politics and greed as they have seen them self as a threat to each other especially America which are planning of imposing this kind of tariffs on goods imported from China, Mexico and Canada because it feels that it can do anything and nobody will object it but in this case it is not going that way as each of these countries involved has also planned to impose thesame tariffs that they plan on imposing to Americans goods coming to their country too
This is a lesson to every country on the earth that they should they should prioritize local investments which will boost their local content so that they will not be relying too much on foreign goods

Self sustaining economy is far from reality and there were many examples of them have failed but we can make it to work to an extent if your from a country where all the resources are there and only need the right leaders to make it happen. For example countries from Africa blessed with every resource a human kind need but their leaders selling them for easy money instead of building their own.

yup same here except our country does not have a good relationship with china but it seems like a lot of our leaders are ready to just be slaves to china instead of trying to defend the country and make sure that we have everything we can have to fight against china

The local market should be encouraged and developed, if not from below, how can we conclude that the country is in good economic condition while the lower classes are still struggling to support their families with the value of money that continues to shrink due to the high cost of goods/services.

It's probably better for us to focus on what we can control like supporting local businesses and improving our own products and services. That way, we can be more independent and prepared for any global changes. Investing in what we have could really help us grow without worrying too much about what's happening between the bigger countries.

supporting your local business will make a difference in your country's economy and if you want to contribute more to your economy then you can also set up a business yourself most of the time products from big corporations and local businesses almost have the same quality but of course the one from big companies is a lot more expensive but it does not mean it is automatically better

Investing in what we have could really help us grow without worrying too much about what's happening between the bigger countries.

i think we still should be able to worry about what is going on globally because it helps us predict what can happen to our country and we would be able to plan accordingly being globally aware also has its perks

Its also whats going on in m country. There are just products from China that we can't produce but they do and most important of it is that its cheaper than the local products. Even the food products are cheaper, since China can grow crops faster. The economic trade war puts all other trading partners in a disadvantage.

We the people however sees these local politicians and business men giving us favor in importing products from China because its the cheaper option.

When big players in the economy have issues, it is the countries that depend on them that get affected by it. African countries, most especially those that are meant to learn from these sort of issues, the need for less dependence on these richer countries will never learn because they are focusing on their personal interests and not really how to keep the economy viable.

We generally will not be able to compete with developed countries and we will not get any benefits from them if they are not willing to help us. For example, my neighboring country, China, is in a kind of competition with India, and there is a lot of war of nerves going on between India and the United States. We, who are low-income countries, will never benefit from these. However, if we can establish free trade relations with them, then we can get benefits and we will never be able to compete with them. Especially, war can never develop a country, rather war destroys all the economic conditions of a country. We should always benefit from the above countries in silence and maintain all kinds of import and export relations with them. We who do not like war should always try to live on the basis of understanding between all countries, then we can only benefit from those countries.

Such a situation occurs only when the opportunity for negotiation fails. If the politicians can't do the political practice based on the values then there is nothing left to say. I am not a fan of politics but this kind of economic war will not end well at all i think. Because they sometimes forget this the country has to go through an unstable situation after a few days, which the common people have to pay for. Therefore, as a result of all these wars economic as well as human resources of the country are greatly damaged.
