Yes, I know that diving into sports news helps improve sports betting strategies. That's why I often mention in discussions that sports betting is very different from classic casino games, especially slots. After all, winning in sports betting is more or less predictable, and based on past performances of a team or athlete, conclusions can be made about how they will perform in the future. But I just don't have a strong interest in sports to get deeply involved in it. Trying to place a few bets to understand the essence better is useful. But making it a regular hobby is something I’m unlikely to do.
Treat any sports betting odds you see as a pseudorandom number generator.
Sports news such as the stuff that you read, and any prediction models for scores and stuff, gives off the semblance of improving your odds, however at a certain point it ceases to have any meaningful effect on your betting odds - they can't be made shorter.
The bottom line is that, taking odds as the final determinat factors in selecting your games to bet on is somewhat a high risk thing to do, so for that, in as much as you push to follow odds, you should also rely so much on your lucks and other factors that make your bet an ultimate winning bet at the end of the day.
Since the final results is what matters.
