Dominance as a Crypto term is something I hear often especially related to Bitcoin.
I may not have gotten all knowledge about this but the little I know about BTC Dominance is it's ability to surge high in price while other crypto assets (ALTS) will be experiencing a struggling price trend or even a reversal Downtrend.
I've got a few questions about this dominance..

• Apart from the reason of investors diverting funds from ALTS to purchase BTC, what else is the catalyst of this Dominance?
• Does ALTS exhibit dominance on other ALTS?

If there are more alts the dominance of BTC will be lower because when there was only BTC in the market, the dominance was 100% and with more alts the dominance starts to be divided, but more money can increase the dominance and more alts can get the investments due to the diversified minds and targets of investors, which will increase the dominance of alts and BTC will lose.

Alts can exhibit dominance on other alts like after btc the most dominant is ETH and then XRP.
Dominance means money in an asset if out of 3 trillion market cap of crypto 1.5 is of BTC then BTC have 50% dominance.

Dominance is not necessarily mean investors are moving to Bitcoin, it could be due to people exiting the market too, the dominance is nothing but how much the Bitcoin's Market cap value of the total crypto market cap. Not many of them realise that the price of Bitcoin and altcoins increase when the Bitcoin losing its dominance which is a sign that new money is entering into the market. But the dominance has nothing holds significant value that one must give any attention to it.

I think ot is preposterous to say that altcoins are designed to scam investors. Not all altcoins are scams and some have great utility nd technology behind them. Examples are Monero and IOTA

Yes, altcoins does not necessarily and automatically mean scams all because we usually define an altcoin as anything aside from Bitcoin therefore the King of Alts for now is actually Ethereum. However, there is also no denying that all of the scam projects in the cryptocurrency industry can be alts but in the past we usually call them to be shitcoins which is really the right term to difference good alts from those bad ones. As to dominance, my impression is how percentage is Bitcoin taking the whole crypto pie and we can easily discern this thing by visiting CMC and as of this time BTC got 60.25% dominance.

BTC Dominance in other words can also be called a measure of community interest in transactions using BTC coins... if BTC Dominance increases, it will have an impact on BTC supply and demand, it could be that this BTC is transacted with FIAT and ALT, depending on which direction the majority of investors move in... from there we will see some results as the graph above explains.

BTC's price will always affect almost everything in the cryptocurrency world. With that, the confidence with crypto being applied to every life is because of BTC. Being the first and accepted by a lot of nations already. Additionally, having a digital way to have an investment that would be as valuable as gold as well.

No matter how temporarily altcoin price dominate, if bitcoin price dips, it must affect that coin, and I wouldn't call it dominate but maybe, a pump and dump. Alt season is not guaranteed but bitcoin bull run is a guarantee as long as the network is secured due to bitcoin halving that occurs before the bull market. However, altcoins are fun to gamble with if you are lucky to be profitable.

You have understood the dominance already and know if it increases what will happen and if it decreases what can happen, but there are other possibilities too besides two and you can learn few by looking at the picture below.

Not all altcoins are designed to scam their investors you can trust those altcoins which have their own networks and blockchain and are in the market for past 5 years and still surviving the wave and are working in trending narratives like RWA AI and with time they adopt to new narrative.

If a project is doing that then it can easily stay live for another cycle and we can get better results maybe in the next cycle due to the adoption because money is not going to be stayed in BTC forever.

there is many factors why there could be a dominance of bitcoin but generally if bitcoin is doing really well everyone is gonna want to direct their funds towards bitcoin regardless if the altcoins they are holding are good or not they would not want to miss out on the action

it is even possible that altcoins become more dominant over bitcoin sometimes which you might encounter what people are calling the altcoin season where bitcoin is starting to dip so people are taking out their bitcoins and putting it to altcoins

So even there is not much hope I will belive on that altcoin season will come.
